There are no projects on the horizon, so to help combat retirement boredom, I created this pressure washer cart for the occasional spa day.

Installed a fresh gear reduction starter in the 45 yesterday; it starts much faster and easier than it has in recent memory. I had not thought that a gear reduction starter would decrease in performance so slowly as to be overlooked. So, I learned something new.😉

Did you get a remanufactured one from Toyota or a different source?

First ever Valve adjustment! Drove it around, got it hot...
Decided to try it running, keep it hot, feel it up, adjust.
I used an old alignment plate to keep the oil from squirting all over my exhaust...
Some oiling ports are pumping it out... some not so much eg cyl #1...
I had one or two loose and pretty much all the intake valves were too tight. I had one that the lock nut was about to spin completely off!!!

Shut it off and tightened all down.

I think I did a decent job... it is running so much smoother and has noticeably more power. Scoured the Mud forum for specs and vids... Thanks to all!!

Changing out the oil, adjusting timing, fixing a bad ground, clean air filter... and then another adjustment on the Weber 38/38...

Now where the heck did i leave my funnel?!

**Edit: Holy smokes. Turn the key and she pops to life now. Quick timing by ear as it was too light out to see my timing light, even the idle screws felt more responsive. Run the to the gas station and she felt smoother and stronger. Should pull plugs and check... compression too.

Man thats gratifying!!

No, that picture is from that other thread.

I like too and just planned to place an order. Just perfect color combo with Rustic Green:

Recall where you saved this photo from? Have a late model 40 with buckets needing covers. I like the color of the Cruiser Corps "coral" covers, and have them on my '69 bench and jumps, but they don't offer covers for 79 and later 40 series buckets. SOR offers the coral, but they won't sell me the material to do the door panels (they lost that sale, but don't seem to care). Grey door panels with coral covers isn't happening, just wondering if there is a South American or overseas source for matching door panels and seat covers in Coral? Only thing I can find for non-grey or black door cards is a crappy aftermarket beige door panel offering on ebay....

All the things I need to tackle. I need some help though. Never done valves, timing, carb stuff. It’s all on my list to do…but before all of that on the list is to punch myself.

It is way easier for me to learn with a good coach, but I have picked up a lot of skills from good youtube vids. Sadly you will need to watch like 20 that the people have no clue about what is actually going on, to find the well edited, informative one that will truly help you out.

Yeah, I’ve been watching lots of videos. I feel confident I could rebuild the carb…I think. But timing and valves I’m not sure. Someone here needs to do Saturday videos that are streamed live and be like a class that we could all watch in real time and ask questions as we go. Lol.

I’d walk you through it via FaceTime.
It’s really a lot easier than you would expect.

@sleepycruiser

I suggest not disassembling the choke plate and throttle plates … my weber has over 200k on it and only had to do it once and that was just recently

Don’t think you have that many miles to warrant that

The screws for them are pesky and often strip and if you can do everything else … it is easy …. EASY

If @RevISK is being generous to offer face time I would go that route… there are most likely many videos that go step by step what to do

Makes sense and thanks for that tip.

I’ve reached out to @RevISK and I need to order some parts before pulling the top off (gasket, etc.)
