I used one of those $20 tapestry from a german yard sale back in the mid 70's, Installed on my front seat likely early 2000. Lasted until last year and I put one on from my Sis. I think I'm going to do elk hide, Elsie help me catch them.

There is something really gratifying making old parts like new. This small project required welding (filling in as it was stripped out) the interior ambulance rear soft top lever 69385-90801 square hole. Then pressing a broach to cut the new hole to receive the exterior door handle 69201-60010 . The exterior handle required a machinist to weld a new m6x1.0 post.
Then used JB weld to fill imperfections on the latch as it’s material that withstands heat for powder coating.
Applied Vegas Gold by Prismatic Powder. It’s close enough to factory for this application.

Made some more progress on going through the cooling system. Got the heater core lines and heater valve off.The heater valve was filled with rust/gunk. Got the radiator support bracket out and the lower splash shield as well. Going to be addressing some minor rust and repainting the support bracket and splash shield. If you haven’t serviced your cooling system or never replaced your heater valve you should look into it. I had no overheating issues somehow. 
They have been great. I put them on in late September and took it on an adventure in October. No issues. Only got stuck once. First time using the 8274.

Quick update - more dets on my thread.
Move to driver side to reinforce the rear hangers for preventative measures. Cut out inner c-channel - cleaned out debris & found holes in frame with light. Thought about fix, drilled out, then thought might be better way, cut out frame part, make patch, braced patch to frame - then got the new reinforcement tacked in.

Had to replace my heater resistor with a new one I found. It's 4" compared to the original 2 ⅞" one. Had to build a new bracket. Works great as well as the rear heater now on high

Flipped my back to a stock configuration. The spring flip was causing my drive line to pull out. All good now.
