A few small details. Replaced one of the spare tire carrier male hinges because the threads were SAE. Also, replaced the 2 Nylock retaining nuts with the OEM castle nuts (Chrome plated) and cotter pins. Copious amount of grease added to spindle pins.

Also, replaced the M5 x .09 screws securing the lift gate latches and access panel.

Changed the gear oil, went to test drive, wouldn’t start except by dumping gas in the carburetor.
Went to town, got gas, put in, no change.
Started pulling stuff apart, dumped out fuel filter bowl, reassembled, voila, started.
Took it down my hill to the deli for lunch, then to the post office to mail something for my daughter, then back home.
1.5, maybe 2 mile round trip, but no catastrophes.

Got my hubcap rings from @cruisermatt welded on and front caps secure. Thought I had rear caps, but I must've been lying to myself. Plus I forgot that I needed a ring for the spare, sooo Matt, I will be sending you another PM for those.

Are those modified FJC rims or Toyota of a different flavor?

Finally, install mirrors and windshield.... I still do not see anything from those mirrors... :)
probably the door mirror is a better choice... but it needs to drill the doors...

Your your mirror mount looks awkward to me . 1st I'd suggest 1st to rotate the mirror 90 degrees. You can tighten the 3 screws to stiffen it up the pivot point. I found It needs to be against the windshield frame to stabilize it. This wind blows it that way.

Couple of Questions why wouldn't you just use the return/regulator on the Tb? Is it to reduce the amount of fuel line used? Or is there a problems with the internal regulator?

Also can I just use the stock 5/16 outlet on the tank? I'm concerned that it won't flow the volume of fuel the pump requires.
Sorry for the slow response..

Yes, leaves only 1 fuel line running thru the engine compartment.

The current tank outlet will provide more than needed flow. I haven’t checked the actual flow of the return to the tank, but I bet it’s substantial.

busy week for the 40
relocated my front shackle hangers.
put on a few months insurance and finally got an error in the paperwork corrected
went for a club run/camping/wheeling weekend trip
Got to diagnose and replace a faulty ignition module when the truck suddenly died on the side of the highway at midnight on my 300 mile drive home from said weekend trip. glad i threw that extra module into my box of trail spares 20 odd years ago.
