In this image, I can see the cables going back to the engine compartment instead of to the solenoids on the front of the 8274 winch. I am doing the same thing. Do you have a power disconnect somewhere? What are you using and where is it located?

the key does not seem deformed and just has a small mark at one end. Keyway looks fine

drove it some more....currently the odometer is little less then a 1000 miles away from showing the same number it read roughly 9 years ago

Ordered a reproduction Owner's Manual. Pleased with the production quality.

Added a recovery point in the rear along with a new kinetic rope and soft shackles.

It is always cool to open a box of parts from the Toyota dealer. New rear side marker lights and drain plugs & gaskets.
