This afternoon was somewhat productive:

Last brake line made, installed

Skid plate reinstalled

Battery tray reinstalled

Fuel filter and bracket reinstalled

Pulley, fan, alternator, radiator, hoses, belt reinstalled

Still need:

plugs for brake light sensors (1/8 British standard pipe thread, really?!)

Battery

Bleed brakes when done

Add coolant

Hope water pump doesn’t leak at stripped bolt

Doubt I’ll get it done before Saturday but that’s what tow bars are for!😉

Good on ya for keeping the red-headed stepchild of a carb.

Finally cut off these tubes after 28 years....I enjoy the stock look the most. Also installed new clutch slave and rebuilt clutch master cylinder. Got a few more projects to go still, but after all these years still love this guy. I really cannot wait to restore this again and get the diamond tread off and install these factory wheels I have.

such a great color

Got the 8274 on the '70 last weekend, and pulled them out of the shop so I could clean up a bit today.

Looks great!

I am a little surprised those wheels on the Spring Green clear the TRE’s and Relay Rod. Maybe the 17’s push the rim edge above them? .
It's a good 1 1/2" away from hitting.

That is great to know!

Looks great, I have the 16” versions on my 60 and had to space them to clear everything. These wheels are one of my favorite ways to get more modern size rubber and still have a wheel that looks right on a vintage Cruiser!!

I got this epic picture of the 40 and my wife in her "Jackie Kennedy" attire a few weeks ago with my leica m3 from the same year as my fj40! 1964. good old 35mm film.

thanks! Its a new released film actually. all though I think its actually a motion picture film modified and put in a 35mm canister. Its Cinestill 400D. I pushed it to 1600. It certainly gives vintage vibes. portra I find looks almost flat sometimes but its pretty malleable and has good exposure latitude.

Its really good but kinda quirky is the best I can describe it haha. I say go for it.

5000kms service done. Salesman sure do get co fused when you need an oil filter for one vehicle, an air filter from another and the fuel filter from a 3rd.

Also about to order my aftermarket ECU to get this thing more tunable
Never had that problem with my '74 Fj40... not ever. '72 Chevy truck engine, '89 Caprice Classic Alternator, '77 Fj40 front knuckles & brakes, '77 Chevy Blazer disc rotors & calipers in the back, Scout II P/S, 1980 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup P/S pump... etc., etc.
