What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Took my son and his friend to the local cars and coffee, then stopped by the old candy store.

Well, it was all fun and games until now.

I parked the cruiser for 30 minutes and when I returned there was oil dripping from the timing gear cover(so I think). I tried to tighten the 2 lower bolts and just made things worse.

Here's a piece of cardboard after a minute of being place under the drip

Its frustrating, as I've replaced the gasket multiple times now. This latest SNAFU happened about 1,000 miles after replacing the gasket.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I used the FIPG on both sides of the gasket, just like when I did the oil pan.
Its been suggested that I only use the FIPG. That the gasket is not necessary if using the FIPG. I am inclined to try it. Any insight from those who have gone through this?
Are you sure it’s not between the plate and block that’s leaking? Mine is leaking a little from there but I’m just dealing with it for now.

Seat recovering party this weekend, not reinstalled yet but it sure is nice to have all of that nasty out of there.

Went to Cruise Moab! Here is a link to all the photos from me and all the Proffitt's guys: Cruise Moab 2022 - Google Drive - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JGdAlz08GJ-SChJ7A9wchd7H8n1iwdPC?usp=sharing. There are some great videos of the Megacruiser and others in there as well. If you were on any of the runs with me, and have photos you want to add, or just want to stick some in, give me your email and I will add you as an editor.

Great pics and videos 👍

After 2 years of owning 3 FJ40s I came to the realization I had 1 too many and it was time to cull the herd. This is what I planned on advertising in Mud:

Zeke side.JPG

The universe works in mysterious ways, my brothers - on the 24th a fellow Mudder posted a Want to Buy in the Mud classifieds and I sent him a PM. The whirlwind began, and following a flurry of PMs, e-mails, texts and phone calls, last Friday he showed up in my driveway after driving from Alabama to New Mexico (left Thursday afternoon!) Next thing I knew my wife was taking this picture:

My head's still spinning - deal done and he hauled it all the way back to Alabama!

Drove up to the hills to take a run, the views aren't too shabby either.

Prior to buying my 70 FJ40 eleven years ago the original had the head liner replaced. Had a locate shop where he lived in Eastern Arizona do the job. Not original but decent. The cap to rest of the hard top is sloppy to say the least. Used some type of tar that has never hardened. Cleaning it has been a chore. Guess should be glad there no rust and original paint is still in great shape. What are people using to replace the packing and weatherstripping between the cap and hard top/windshield?

Another question best way to remove weatherstripping/glue from 52 year old doors? Paint on these two are in great shape.

Third unrelated question, what is the spline count the split case output shaft? Thought it was 19 spline the the transmission tailshaft. Maybe it's 16?
