Hi all, another small mod I did in my garage ;)

I missed CarPlay a lot in my cruiser, so I was willing to go for a Beatsonic module. After some consideration I spent the same amount of money to get an iPad mini plus a really great holder from Brodit. The iPad is used for navigation, serves as a hotspot for the kids, etc. My phone now only plays music ;-)

Nice. What App do you use for navigation on the iPad? Are you happy with the iPad mount? Can you share the link?

Hammer firmly around the outer edge. This will compress the copper gasket and it’ll loosen right up.

Also 90341-24016 is the part number for a plug that will bolt right in but replaces the 10mm internal hex with 14mm external. As long as it’s not over torqued this is much more resistant to sticking.
@bloc and @Heckraiser you're geniuses!!

Totally thought I'd have to weld a nut on it. But bought some hex extraction bits from amazon, tapped it firmly with a hammer, then tapped the bit in and voila!!

Kinda jumping the gun but was looking to do some work on the truck and needed some help from minds much smarter than my own. Does anyone know how to remove these plastic panels that separate the engine bay from the wheel well? Is it just a good tug? Are they one time use? Any help would be immensely appreciated.

Wow, I don't think my wheel well has been that clean since I picked it up from the dealer. 😂

loosk like the lower connector that center peice can be popped out to remove. Not sure about that white plastic one at the top, why remove them?

Yank on them, break all the clips, buy new clips :hillbilly:

I think you’re right. I just want to apply some undercoat on the frame rails, so I think I can just do the bottom clips and pull up on the panel. Many thanks

that lower one you can just use a flat screw driver to pop the center out then the outer ring can be pushed out from behind or pulled with needlenose.

^^ Yup, it's in there. The white ones are the ones that are most likely to break. 90467-12069 I also bought a big bag of the black ones on amazon for cheap because they're used more commonly throughout the body (under hood, wheel well liners, splash guards, etc. If you're careful you might not break the black ones, but I usually break any plastic clip just by looking at it.

I have working audio again. After much delay, finally got around to installing a JBL amplifier repaired by OEM Auto Audio.

One day last fall all audio was replaced by a soft crackling noise out of the tweeters no matter the source. I suppose if this happens to anyone else you can open the amp up and repair it yourself but that’s above my pay grade.

Odo: 81,779
Replaced spark plugs and coils
Oil change and air filters
Cleaned all the glass really well and waxed

Next up: probably a group 31 battery upgrade

Checked the tolerances of play on the SPC upper ball joints. Thinking they need to be replaced. We'll see what SPC sais.

Chase light.
