I built an attic rack for the back of my '99. Needs some fine tuning, but it works pretty well so far :)

Also had an idea for using some wasted space on the outside of the drawers... needs some refining, but here is a proof of concept. Could be good for keeping maps, silverware, thin stuff...

Had to go to the dark web to get Techstream to work on my Mac ;)

Got my neutral pressure readings, cranked the TB’s and we are back in spec now with a Dissent front bumper and Warn VR12 winch.

Repacked all of the wheel bearings. Talk about a messy and time-consuming job.

I ended up needing to replace the bearings and races on one of the rear wheels but the rest of them were good. One of the bolts on one of the rear adjusting nuts was stripped so I had to replace that (and buy an impact screwdriver to get the old one out) and two of the bolts holding on one of the freewheeling hub covers sheared off when torquing them. Luckily there was enough sticking out that I could use pliers to get the sheared part out but I ended up just replacing all six of those cover bolts on that side with new bolts to hopefully avoid a recurrence.

The local auto parts store was great (Sprint Auto Parts in Clare, South Australia to give them a plug). I didn't have the special tool to press in the new races so I took the hub in and they pressed them in for free. And they were very helpful the three or so other times I went in to get parts and tools during the process. And luckily, the local Toyota dealer had bearings in stock so I didn't have to wait for new ones to get freighted up.

Love that idea for the drawers! I am definitely going to try that out

Got my Toyota High Mileage decals from @dingoboyexplore . These are really quality raised decals/badges that he produces. Anyone wanting to memorialize their mileage should consider these. He sells them directly. Now I need to keep on truckin’ to earn that 300k badge.....and beyond.

Also, picked up a set of KISS drawers from a guy who sold his 100 Series to someone who didn’t want the drawers. These things are great! I didn’t get to experience the building of the drawers, but I can tell these things are crazy well thought out. Going to be buying a few chili dog bags and chum buckets from Dave this week to organize my storage.

So in the past two weeks I’ve replaced four coil packs and now the APPS sensor went out. Thankfully, it was windy and 22! I was also able to replace the hood struts and battery terminals as well. Pitfalls be damned it is nice to step back and take stock of your efforts to keep a clean well running rig.

Shoveled the snow to clear a nice spot on the drive then wrenched. Replaced the OME Nitros with the Tough Dog 53 Foamcells (to match the rears). Then added the @reevesci TrailTailor fully adjustable upper control arms with Curry Johnny Joints for a nice upgrade with new greasable bushings. The red powercoat looks awesome. I was detecting a subtle vibration at speeds over 72mph. This should allow me to adjust the pinion angle and take that right out.

Wish these adjustable uca's were available when I bought the MT uca's. Being able to adjust with out removing one end of the uca would be so much easier. TT makes some good stuff.

Now that they are in place, I can just loosen the lock nuts and count my turns on both sides. Agreed TT @reevesci is making some great stuff at a makes sense price. Just replacing the bushing or doing factory uca’s again didn’t make sense when these are available.

Install Note: I installed them the same length as factory one at a time with the weight on the tires. To align the holes I just put a small upward force (floor jack) on the front of the diff to create the length needed.

@cmck would like to hear some feed back on your new front shocks after you get some miles on them.

I “had” to do errands today so I could run over every pot hole and every road seam I could find.

20 Mile Report: The shocks are soaking up the mini bumps and the mild pot holes (18’ wheels, duratracs at 34lbs) better than ever. In the past I have run a tired factory setup and OME nitros with cranked tbars and with Tough Dog tbars.

I also ran thru a dozen 6” deep pot holes and every road drain I could find. Those where noticeably milder with out a big hit but still a hit.

I would describe it like the first reaction of the shock it to move and then slow the hit. That sensation was not very noticeable in the OME’s. It felt like more energy just went into the tbars. The worst combination was OME and cranked Tbars.

Very pleased with the adjustable rear tough dogs and these feel similar so far.

More to follow in time.

I’ve been running tough dog suspension including the 53mm front shocks for about 8 months now with absolutely no complaints. The front rides great.

Went to replace a door lock motor on the 06 LX. I had spare motors on the shelf from my 99 LC. After getting everything apart the 06 uses a D shaft and the motors I had was round shaft.:( Pulled out the grinder and modded the round shaft and made my own D shaft:flipoff2: Door locks now work as they should.:grinpimp:
