Don’t forget to reattach ALL the coil packs before cranking her back up… now I can’t seem to clear the codes before a long drive.
Couldn’t clear the codes because apparently the plug I reinstalled on the second from the firewall (under the bracket) I ended up sticking between the plug and the valve covers like a dingbat. So there were two that were unplugged. So apparently it’ll run with at least two coil packs unplugged.

Dont rush doing things. You make stupid mistakes.

Need advice on three things. 1. My headlights look like butt. I know that's part of living in the desert. I did the refinish thing about 2 years ago, is there a better option? I believe mine are plastic not glass. 2. On my passenger front signal cover, it likes to work it's way ajar pretty quickly, I imagine i have a broken clip. Any good fixes? 3. For some reason my glove box is wonky, and i haven't figured out why, but the light stays on even when it's closed, any advice for tweaking it into place better? I think this happened after we removed the box to put in the RAM mount in the tape deck.
I used double sided tape for my turn signal light that has a broken mounting tab. It has come loose at highway speeds several times.

I need to order a new one, but always forget when I actually have time (off to the parts website now!)

Get your hands on 98-99 glass lenses that won’t fade.

worked on the sunroof. Front drain was super kinked. I made a part to keep it un kinked.

Also wrestled with opening and closing the sun roof for several hours. I had to disassemble the drivers side tube a d pull the cable out with two sets of pliers to get the system to close.

well, damnit.

guessing with that kind of damage to the A pillar it's going to be totaled

I think on the glove box, they can get wonky if the screw holes that hold the bottom hinge get wallered out it’ll let it sag. I’m pretty sure you can replace the plastic inserts.

See the last post in this thread for the OEM replaceable screw inserts…

Damn, was that from the storm the other day? It didn't even seem like that bad of a storm.
happened last night, branch fell about 1am

Got CEL code P0441 so did new pcv valve, grommet, and hose to start. Valve broke during removal and grommet fell into baffle of course. Pretty sure they were original on the 316k LX. Thankfully wasnt too bad getting the pieces out

LTFT1/2 were around 13%/16% before while idling (6% when under load), now down to 8%/10% (5% under load), so somewhat improved. Will see if CEL comes back. Might check purge valve next

P0441 came back after 284 miles. Replaced purge valve this time. It had been replaced before about 4 yrs/30k miles ago with some aftermarket brand so went back to denso. If that doesn't work, might do the charcoal canister next

gosh, that sucks.. really took a hit. we’ve had some weather, for sure. Insurance would never back a rebuild of something like this, it’s done.

Curious, what’s your next move? Another 100?

I think so. there's a white 99LX posted nearby that's lower mileage than this one I want to go look at.

either way though, planning on buying it back (or just keeping depending on ins decision) and seeing if I can get the pillar back into shape to get a new windshield in. really considering putting a roll cage inside if I do that though, especially after seeing the pics of rollovers guys have had recently. either way, no longer any worries about trail damage, so no reason not to keep it to take off road since it runs great.

I'm almost positive they'll total it. Mine got totaled from this about a year ago, just a dented lower tail gate, broken bumper cover mounting tabs, and bent/cracked tow brace.

I have been looking for an app that calculates true MPG while accounting for tire size and gearing. Claude builds you an interface for inputs and viola.
