What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Did you use a torque wrench when you installed? If so, I would be curious to know what torque you used, as well as if there was any sign of antiseize on the threads.
I did on mine. I’ll try to remember to check them this week too. I think I torqued mine to 14ftlbs? That sounds familiar. I did mine 33k ago.

No, just fairly snug. When I originally changed plugs and coils there WAS baked antiseize present and it was touch and go getting them out, I was worried that I was going to take the head threads with them but they came out safely. These plugs and coils have maybe 3000 miles on them (absolutely no antiseize). It was probably north of 14ftlbs.

Awesome, thanks for that. I'm always wondering if the suggest increase in seating torque to 18ft/lb is appropriate, and the anecdotes that I hear all suggest that it is.

Just went and checked the easy side (driver side) and the only one that I could tighten up to 18ftlbs was the plug by the firewall. It still only turned maybe 1/4-1/2 turn before it reached it. The others were still snug. I’ll try to get to the pass side at some point.

I find the pass. side easier, at least after getting the air ducting off. Free, unfettered access to all four. I hate that firewall one on the DS.

Yea I didn’tfeel like pulling the air ducting off yet. Driver side wasn’t too bad to just check torque on them. I remember pulling the plug out of the firewall one was a bear but just getting the sockets in there this time wasn’t bad at all.

A flexible shaft extension helps a lot when getting that spark plug

New plugs, coil packs and air filter. Slowly baselineing this beast.

The rubber on my spark plug socket holds stronger than the extension I use for that and it always abandons the socket in the tube when trying to pull it back out. I finally resorted to Gorilla duct tape to get me across the finish line.
These magnetic flex head sockets are an awesome addition to any toolbox!

Yea I usually figure out the best combination after a couple of tries. I always seem to have to disconnect extensions as I pull out due to the brake booster. Just a couple extra encouraging cuss words and it comes right out

Traded my RTT to @TrailBornRunner for some U-Joint labor and a couple cargo boxes. Basically, our 100's traded hats

Unfortunately, I'm joining the DDC (Divorced Dad Club) and the RTT was for the wife and son...
I can't get my fat ass up that ladder and my bladder would necessitate a giant "beer bong"
anyway. So if I go camping with my son, he can share the ground tent with me.
Now I have space for recovery gear and flyfishing gear up top AND got 178lbs off my roof rack.
And Trevor gets to upgrade his sleeping quarters right in front of his Cruise Moab trip this year.
A symbiotic trade.
Nice, how did you mount those to the rack?

Completed aftermarket automatic headlights wired to Toyota factory headlight stalk (that was added to have the factory fog light switch, for the added factory fog lights). I am happy that is done.

Added aftermarket heated seats (pads installed with new leather) using factory switches and mostly factory wiring harness.

Replaced all the bulbs in the switches.

This weekend - Start wiring install for power rear vent windows.

Holes, bolts and washers. I'll take some pics in the morning. The Gamiviti rack has mounting plates with multiple mounting points for the feet for flexibility so you just use holes that aren't in use already sorta like for awning brackets. The washers just make up the distance between the mounting plate and the top of the tubular cross member.

Appreciate the reminder above to check spark plugs. Prepping for Big Bend next weekend and got to those, cylinders 4 and 5 were hand tight 😅 One of those plugs showed signs of gas escaping past the threads.

Snugged them up and my ticking is completely gone, and she fires stronger than before. Might have resolved 3 years of annoyances and concerns by just tightening plugs.

Also checked all my fluids and adjusted the ebrake. LockNLube grease gun coming tomorrow (tired of the cheap one I have) so I can hit all the zerks and get the skids back on.

Need advice on three things. 1. My headlights look like butt. I know that's part of living in the desert. I did the refinish thing about 2 years ago, is there a better option? I believe mine are plastic not glass. 2. On my passenger front signal cover, it likes to work it's way ajar pretty quickly, I imagine i have a broken clip. Any good fixes? 3. For some reason my glove box is wonky, and i haven't figured out why, but the light stays on even when it's closed, any advice for tweaking it into place better? I think this happened after we removed the box to put in the RAM mount in the tape deck.

I think on the glove box, they can get wonky if the screw holes that hold the bottom hinge get wallered out it’ll let it sag. I’m pretty sure you can replace the plastic inserts.
