I capped my rear AC lines and have working AC again! Fingers crossed that it holds up without new leaks in the front lines. This video I found on YT was very helpful for the cut locatiosn and included links for the fittings as well; not sure if he's a Mud member or not.

To all who have capped off their rear AC - how adequate is the front AC unit to keep the occupants of the second row cool?

Loaded it up to go riding. Can't wait to get the Rock Warrior wheels put on.

I finally had a chance to install the full Heatshield window cover set for my 100 series. The fit is quite good and the supplied suction cups work well. I had the 3rd row up for 2 weeks straight and no cups released. I got the first, second, third rows and rear window. The outside is the silver mylar finish and is made in USA! It think you can also get mylar gold color now. The full set will run you about 200 shipped.

First and second row.

I bought the lines off a cruiser at a Toyota yard to reconnect mine . Po capped rear. Hope the rear Suitcase looking unit still works, rear unit controls those roof vents above the rear doors and I feel like they are necessary. Kid sweats a bit back there when it’s a hot day. Rest of my ac components up front are within 5k miles new.

Finally tracked down the right spare tire key with the help of my friendly local Lexus parts department. Ordered a spare one and 4 lug nuts so I can ditch that security feature. Then I was able to get a full-size spare so I can finally start to roam in this beast!

Got bored and made a poor's man high clearance bumper. lololol. Too broke to afford Dissent.

Those look legit. I might have to get it since I car camp a lot.

Yeah that’s one of the reasons I ended getting it was for camping purposes. For the rear hatch window, I may punch a few more holes near the bottom to keep the shade flush against the window with the spare suction cups they provided.

I have had my front sun shade from Heatshield for 10 years now. So these should hold up for that long at least.

In anticipation of a road trip from Washington to Yellowstone, I figured it was time to do some extra service on the ol'girl to avoid any unnecessary pitstops.

I was going to replace my power steering reservoir, but the one I ordered showed up and had obvious signs of being overheated in transit or manufacturing. The reservoir body was warped, and when I removed the cap, it was deformed badly. So, ended up flushing the power steering system with fresh fluid. My steering felt nice before hand, but after flushing out what looked like the original fluid, it feels even better.

Also did:

- New PCV Valve and associated hoses thanks @witsend. This was fun after a piece of the PCV grommet broke off and fell inside the valve cover. After a couple of cold beverages I was able to fish it all out. Surprised at how much smoother the idle was after replacing it. Inspecting the hoses and PCV valve, there wasn't any obvious signs that any of the hoses were leaking or that the PCV valve was getting stuck. But, happy its done any way.

-new Driver side lower ball joint
-greased all the U-joints
-rotated the tires

Still to go:

- replace the rest of the coil packs (replaced 2 a couple of months ago when one went out). time for the rest
-install my Total Chaos upper control arms
-tie-rod ends
-alignment
-R&R dif fluids

Blasted across the country with my wife and daughter in the 100 to visit family. Camped the whole way to stay away from people. Cruiser was a road eating machine. Definitely need to order new shocks though after this trip. They are past their prime.
