For more fun 😎

Nothing very sexy but replaced oil pan gasket, knock down cable adjusted and greased driveshaft U joints and front and rear slip yokes.

I am hoping this gets me leak free. Thought I was 3 weeks ago. 🤣🙄Adjusting the cable seems to have solved a clunky shift I was getting going in and out of 1st. Definitely shifting much smoother.

Getting my ARB front bumper Monday after work. Stoked about that.

Finally decided to replace the old kenwood unit with a double din with android play etc. Need to run the rear camera to the rear... Also need to figure out where to put a front camera for negotiating obstacles when out on my lonesome. For <$150 it was a good upgrade and specifically got one with a physical volume control.

Also traded out my 100AH lifepo4 with a bluetooth capable unit. Between the victron dc:dc charger (with bluetooth) and now the battery, I have pretty decent visibility into what is going on when charging/discharging. All my camping loads (multiple outlets in the vehicle) all feed from the lifepo4.

cheers,
george.

If the clutch is not engaged then just the pulley wheel will rotate, with very minimal effort. If you are able to engage the clutch without the belt fitted, there will be significantly more resistance.

Bought a small swamp cooler for working in the garage during the HOT AZ summers. To make it Cruiser related, I took the Cruiser to Home Depot to get the swamp cooler.

Not this weekend, but I finished up quite a lot of work last month - full cooling system refresh, OEM radiator, fan clutch, all vacuum hoses, fixed my upper oil pan leak, and a number of other things. Now I'm not seeing temps above 184  Even in the concrete swamp of Houston! I couldn't believe my eyes driving around for the first week afterwards.

Oh, and I found a *single* needle bearing in my lower oil pan when I was cleaning/resealing. Weird. Wasn't from me...I hope.

I did notice two things that I need to address soon. One, a light ticking noise that I can hear in the cabin - rises and falls with rpm's, but only really audible from 600-1200rpms mostly. Not sure what that could be, maybe an exhaust manifold leak? I got a mechanics stethoscope, so I need to do some investigating. The other issue is a long cranking/stumbling start after the engine is warm and has been sitting for a little while, probably anywhere between 30min-2 hours. Cold starting is perfectly fine. I know my charcoal canister is likely no good anymore due to a strong suction of air when opening the gas cap, so maybe I will start there.

I have that same unit. It's really good but my power button doesn't work anymore. I can't turn it off but it's connected to ACC so when the key is off the radio is off...In a 2000 Honda Accord. Other than that it's great.

New Tires ( replace 10 yr old X3s)
Oil change
New fan clutch fluid
Greased driveshafts
Hand wash, all for a 5k mile road trip from NH to CO/UT and back starting Wednesday. Wish me luck!
