14 hours in the garage today, and did not get near enough done. It took 4 hours to drill out what I thought was a broken off bolt for the rear sway bar, but it turns out inside the housing, the bolt was bent. Finally, I noticed it was bent and was able to take an air hammer with a spike though a secondary hole and knock the bolt out of the hole. Then I had to chase the threads to make sure they were not messed up. Once the was done, I was able to install the Superior Engineering Heavy Duty Rear Sway bar and the LCP Severe Duty Rear Sway Bar Links. Also, got the front exhaust manifold cleaned up and painted and ready to go back in. I had to replace the rear exhaust manifold since 4 people including myself, a machine shop, and two people at a local LC shop could not get one of the studs out. The replacement will be here tomorrow. I also thought it was bad form to put the old distributor cap and rotor back in so I replaced them with new OEM.
In my infinite wisdom, I decided it was time to get the
@Delta VS front bumper out of the packing it came in and start getting it ready to install. I was not ready for everything it took to get it to where I finished with it today. I bought a 12k Comeup winch to go in, plus I had Baja Designs XL 80’s in amber and a 20” bar to install. It took 2-3 hours of putting the winch in and taking it back out before I figured out the right way to install the winch with the solenoid. Finally i was ready to install the light bar, and realized that the solenoid was blocking me from installing the brackets, so I had to take the dang wince back out again and install the light bar brackets and put the winch back in for what seemed like the 8th time. I decided it was time to call it a day at this point and can get it installed later this week.
