What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Don’t know if mine is TEQ, but PO had installed one on mine and it is wonderful. If they are $55, everyone should have one.

Extremely straight forward. There are two power switches. A hood detent and an inline on/off. I take a photo of where I drilled the hole for the hood switch. I wanted to make sure there were no a/c lines running underneath to conflict with drilling a small hole. I spent more time wiping down with acetone than I did installing.
It's kinda funny, a couple days ago I installed a new LED light under the hood of my other truck because the original one burnt up. As I was doing this, I was thinking, man it sure would be nice if the LC had an under hood light.

Transfer case snap rings are the bane of my existence. I would rather take the transmission out with the engine in 4-5 times to not have to deal with these snap rings! I had no clue until tonight that I needed specialized snap ring pliers for these stupid snap rings.

Haven't heard that one before, I like it!

Well yesterday I welded a patch over a huge exhaust leak on my 80 so it doesn't sound like a clapped out BMW E36 anymore, it just sounds like a clapped out Land Cruiser now. That should last it until I can redo the whole system. Also shampoo'd the carpets and gave the interior vinyl and plastics a dosage of hydration and UV protection. Took my main window switch apart to see if that was the reason my driver window won't go down, it isn't but it was the reason my other three windows were intermittent so 50% win I spose. I flushed my heater cores too with CLR and then some hot water, got a lot of stuff out but mostly just confirmed the headgasket is a goner, and likely has been for the last six years haha. Oh well, I've got gaskets and some time coming up, gonna send my spare head out to the local cylinder head place to lighten my wallet in preperation for this job. Don't wanna hang over the engine with all that cash weighing me down.

Murder scene or trouble removing the transmission oil pan? All kidding aside, I changed the filter and all the solenoids with the kit from Cobra Transmission kit with the Isuzu solenoids, filter, and cork gasket. I would have continued working on tearing down the transfer case, but this weather is delaying my transmission snap ring pliers.
