Got driver side seat heater installed. Absolutely a game changer. Honestly this was the only creature comfort I’ve missed since buying an 80.

Used several really good threads here to help me get it done. I used the JDM OEM seat heater switches. My 97 Collector's Edition was pre-wired for the switches, so it was a pretty straightforward project.

The aftermarket heater pads I used had me a bit confused because they came with their own switches and relays but in the end I got it sorted. Cut all that s*** off and was left with the heater pads and the wire leads.

Definitely the hardest part was removing and reinstalling the upholstery. Now that I’ve done it, the passenger seat will take half the time. I’ll knock that one out today.
My ass is very jealous! Nice job

Drove my baby to Boone for her first snow with me. Leaked oil all the way there, but we made it and had a great time getting up those mountains... A great way to see that the altimeter worked 😀

Been super busy on the 95 interior. It looks and sounds absolutely incredible. I couldn’t be happier with it despite taking about 5 times longer to accomplish than anticipated.

Did the Kicker 51HS10 hideaway with a bracket I found on FB. Worked great but I had to drill custom mount holes to fit the enclosure with all 4 mount points. Decided to go ahead and put kill mat down while I was in there.

Also did a full carpet install from stockinteriors.com
Super happy with the quality of the carpets and the mold fit great.

Ran a rear view camera while I was at it. Running the wire through the tailgate pass through was fun, then directly into the frame. Used wire wrap to make sure it lasted.
Which carpet did you order from stockinteriors ?

Did you get the standard? Or did you upgrade to the Ultra-Plus Cut or the Neon Cut?

I’m shopping different carpets and vendors. I want a nice thick carpet that can take a beating and is quiet.

Did it come with the floor mats? Did you have to cut and hem the edges yourself or did they come that way?

Did the Plush Cut Pile in the "8655 - Sandstone" and i added MASS BACKING it made the new carpet much thicker and nicer.. Also harder to work with and cut. But seriously it's like built in sound deadening and it's a fully waterproof backing.

I ended up using a carpet blade box cutter (a few actually) and a $20 soldering iron from amazon to make holes for the bolts. I highly suggest getting some fabric chalk, laying the old mold over top of the new one and making your lines from that. i cut too much off in a couple places around the console that i had to go back and "weld" back together using a plastic weld gun and a soldering iron. took a little longer but with a little work you actually can't hardly notice to seams at all. If i had been more patient i could have avoided all of this, though. I did end up buying some gorilla tape for rubber to help with the accidental cuts. Again, don't be worried though, i was impatient and it was my own fault.

You'll also need a pnumatic staple gun and some .5" staples to attack the platic door jamb wire protector peices to the floor.

Took Nemo deep into the high desert for some bird hunting. Even got to use the rear locker crossing a frozenish river!

Interior lighting time. Finally got around to fixing my burned out Drive light in the cluster. I also deleted the always-on low fuel light that was annoying. Replaced the bulb in the shifter housing and now have noticed it sometimes needs a tap or two to work. Guess I have a loose connection in there somewhere.

Sometimes the little things bring a lot of satisfaction.

I hated taking out the cluster from the dash

Need to do this what heater pads did you use?
Where'd you source the switches
When I reupholstered the seats in my 80, I used a kit that looked just like this one on the eBay link below (I looked and the seller I bought from is no longer offering them, but the kit look identical)

I used the complete kit (heating pads and switches). If I remember correctly, I had to slightly trim the width of the trim piece on the switches so they would slide into the coin holder slots in the center console. I was originally planning to buy/use a set of oem vertical seat switches, but soon learned they were difficult to source (even used) so went with the ones in the kit and they have worked well.

Spend a nice cold and icy day finishing up cleaning the oil pans and getting them ready to install tomorrow. Also, got the mating surface on the bottom of the block cleaned up and ready, and spent way too much time getting off all the old FIPG off the bolts for the oil pans.
