Nice cruiser, I have a European Hdj80, working on getting it built. On your a/c line, if we can figure out how to box it up we can send you one out of a gas wreck from here, I have one that should have a good tube on it if not we have a really good wrecker close. PM me
Appreciate the offer... I think though the line I need was excusively used in the late model LHD HDJ80 based on part numbers, US FZJ80 a/c lines look quite different the way they loop around the engine on the firewall from what I've seen

Put her to work pulling the sailboat out of the water for the season. Always a sad day in my world.

Spent the day driving west and explored a new mtn range.

Where's that at? That's my favorite kind of landscape to hike around
House range utah, go check it out sometime. Drive around the west side and check out painter spring and see notch peak.

Than if your feeling adventurous try driving into the amasa basin from the east side.

Oh sick, I've been around the House range on the west side but never explored it. I'll have to get down there

Tampa Cruisers & Coffee 2025

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to our first Cruisers & Coffee!

We weren’t expecting that kind of turnout for the meet — the interest, support, and energy from this community absolutely blew us away.
Many many 80s showed up!!
The vibes were great, the conversations were even better, and some killer raffle prizes found new homes thanks to our sponsors!

Seeing everyone connect over these rigs reminds us exactly why we do what we do. The passion out here? Yeah… this community doesn’t play 🔥.

We appreciated every handshake, every head-nod, and every “what size tire is that?” we heard today.

And seeing so many families out here with the kiddos made it even better — that’s what this is all about.

From the entire Tampa Cruisers family — thank you for the love, the laughs, and the support. We can’t wait to do many, many more of these with you all.

If this is what the first wave looks like… imagine round two. 👀
Stay tuned… we’re just getting started.

This seems like an excessively large and specific forum for such a post. 🤷‍♂️

Still salty from taking your boat out of the water?

Just wanted to share some pics of the nice rigs that came to the weekend event. We'll keep it short and simple for you next time G.

I kind of am. Already gearing up for next season though. I wear I spend way more money on the boat when it’s in winter storage than I ever do when I’m using it. 😂

That kid is HUGE!!!! 😜

How hard was the wind blowing? :hillbilly:

A few weeks ago there was an instance of the transmission not shifting into 1st. Only happened once but I didn't want it to happen again.

I replaced the transmission solenoids (that part was easy) but failed at resealing the pan (twice). The first time I used the wrong FIPG (the black engine one) not very much of it and didn't wait overnight. The second time I tried the Permatex 90 minute "right stuff", used more of it and let it sit overnight but I ended up touching the solenoid wire on the top of pan during install and there was a gap :(

Next step is to get some longer bolts the same size and cut off the heads so I don't mess up the FIPG during reinstallation. Also some actual Toyota transmission FIPG (red).

On the positive side the transmission fluid has been flushed a bit since each effort results in another gallon of fresh fluid :)

Cobra transmission has all of the solenoids for $220. Made in Japan and fit perfectly.

Wrapped up a couple projects!

Got my new electronics all mounted and installed!
IMG_8063.webp

Of course I forgot to get a picture of it actually installed.

Also “finished” the other half of my drawer system

Just need to get the drawer fronts made, and shave a bit of the bottom of the drawer under the fridge since it is catching a bit

I used a cork gasket from both toyota and cobraTransmission both worked well. (twice at no fault of gasket). No fipg n÷ded and taking off is much easier.

Put the MT's and TRDs on for the season. Yes, you have to use spacers up front.
