What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Certainly no an 80 but happened into this one owner dealership only maintained 06 DC tundra with 132k. My initial thoughts were to possibly turn it over in the spring to help fund a turbo but after some seat time this rig it’s really solid, very punchy and even quick off the line, something I can’t accuse my 80 of, and silky sooth. Now will plan to use as an adventure “overland” rig and see how that goes. Also, frame is absolutely spotless.

I had an 06' Limited and loved it.

I was ready to do the same with the new grey sunroof trim that i got for my 95 with oak interior but I changed my mind and left them grey so they match the grey headliner. The trim around the rear hatch window is also grey so I'm not completely convinced the original sunroof trim was tan to begin with but with heat and UV who knows what the original colour was.

The trim had both -A0/B0 color suffix designations.

-A0 is discontinued and superseded to the -B0.

Client wanted it to be matched to the -A0 designation.

Ergo, I comply.

😉😉

Sunroof trim matching day…. Tedious but totally worth it when getting the new OEM bits in -B0 color code…. I’m ecstatic these parts are even still available.

The SEM stuff is amazing. I did all the steps you have laid out and it was perfect. The parchment color is particularly a great match for some of our trim.

I also used a semi gloss clear SEM to finish it and it made it virtually scratch proof.

I need to order a new sunroof trim set. Who did you order through and do you still have the part numbers? I can look it up on megazip.net if you don't.

These parts are still available from any Toyota part seller. I’m happy to assist. Feel free to reach out.

This was a couple weekends ago but did a few hard pulls a little over one year after the engine swap. This was the best video of them.

Was that an AWD or 2WD burnout?

Worked on a few things over the weekend, oil change, cleaned oil pan, transmission and underbody covers. Replaced clutch fluid which looked/felt like gray water, was probably the original fluid from 30yrs ago

AC line repair with 5/16" repair connector. Tried with a press connection done by a local company before but was leaking again. New line is NLA unfortunately and nearly impossible to find a used one.

New rear vent covers and Turbo decals, had to order them twice to get them right using soap water instead of just trying to stick them on dry 🤣

Part time kit?
H1FA transfer case mated to a H151 transmission. Actually it can be a bit tough to launch because 1st gear is super short (great for descending steep grades though) but second is sweet. When I am just driving around town normally I usually start in 2nd.

So even the the front hubs are turning there isn't any power being delivered to it.

Good stuff... we were all wrong, lol.

What engine?
