Replaced alternator with a rebuilt Denso from Rock Auto. Oil change/fluid top-off and a quick drive from Mississippi to Grand Junction, Colorado. And, wife had the truck monstalined as a birthday surprise. So, slow weekend.

Fuel filter. Assuming it was original..

Next job will be my first real right of passage - knuckle rebuild

Knuckles were my right of passage, too. Not that bad. Same as anything else: follow the steps, step-by-step, and mentally prepare yourself for a stuck bolt (or cone washer) or two.

Started the weekend off with a couple hours in Hollister, in between covid self-quarantines for kids possible exposure at school. Another weekend at home.

Saw this for sale by the side of the road so bought it.
1FZ, H151, 393,000 km. Usual oil slick on the undercarriage but seems fairly solid. I really don't need another project right now buuuut...can't pass a cruiser for sale.

More info on the aluminum radiator and the shroud, please.
You are barking up the wrong tree unless you have a Chevy V8 engine in your 80....

Had a blast wheeling with the guys from Appalachia Cruisers at Windrock where I met some of the guys participating in the 6th Annual 70 Series run. I should obtain a boat license given all the water we dealt with yesterday. :) had a chance to assist with a knuckle stud shear situation (good reminder to check your nuts and carry an extra set). Kissed a boulder with my rear OEM Fender corner but only scuffed it a bit. Learned the reason for IH8MUD first hand. :)

Also drooled over the U80 rig.

So nice! Something happened in my brain last month and I got the idea that once the kids are a little older the 80 should be chopped into a single cab ute. Maybe by Ken?!
