On Saturday my FJ60 blew a rear axle oil seal while I was 250 miles from. I used the 80 series yesterday to tow the 60 home. At first the 80 seemed a little sluggish and was laboring to pull the trailer loaded with the 60, which was also heavily loaded. Discovered the trailer brakes were dragging, smoke is a good indication of that . Ripped out the trailer brakes and after that the 80 moved along much better.

Take your time and mod the shroud to fit tight otherwise you will be taking a step backwards.
Thanks Phil! I have gotten some heavy duty cell foam from McMaster Carr to help create a good seal for both the radiator to core support and shroud surround. Also going to replace the water-pump while i have every out, and will give the AC condenser and tranny cooler a good cleaning with simple green. My recent trip to Sequoia National park has confirmed indeed my CSF radiator is really not up to par with sufficient cooling on these rigs. I am hoping my engine temp will stay at low 200s at hill climb with AC running.

You have modded your fan clutch, right?

Fall Colors. Then pulled this cross axled jeep off these rocks. Temp tags, but it did have a "trail rated" badge on the side. View attachment 1796529 View attachment 1796531

Over the course of the last few years, whenever we see a stranded vehicle off road or an abandoned/rolled lump on the side of the trail, it's always a Grand Cherokee. Bad juju

I just installed the Huracan Tailgate Storage for my 80. Really happy with the result! Details and pics at the link below. Starts with post #152

I learned there are two (2) pesky heater hoses, not just one. Yes, the other is called a throttle body hose.

It just so happened to blow on Friday while hangin' out with @Tools R Us and @inkpot. hahhahaa. What timing!

2 weeks before we discovered my heater valve was about ready to explode, again, just hangin' with the guys. PHWEWEEEE!
