Decided to replace my rear rocker panel corners before the minor rust progressed out of control. The inner rocker area looked great. A little more sanding and I'll topcoat it. I'll do the drivers side some other weekend.

well done!

Thank you. I have to admit, this if my first auto body repair and first time welding! I bought a used Lincoln welder last week and taught myself gas MIG with .023 wire. I think it turned out well. I like to do things myself for the satisfaction and I enjoy learning new skills. Welding was something I've always wanted to learn.

Even better for your first time! Thin sheet metal work is not easy. .023 wire is probably ideal for what you're doing. Nice job.

Yah, only had a couple of minor burn through's. Power down low and slow wire speed. Kickin around rhino-liner or something similar on my rockers/lower fenders/quarters like I've seen a lot of folks doing.

One from Florida and one from California! Let me find their usernames.

Found this little guy... Just did a flush a couple weeks ago. This radiator isn't even 8 months old lol

On another note, Im about to order a new steering stabilizer and figure I might as well do the TRE.. Am I okay just replacing the boots or should I replace the whole end?

Is it the radiator or one of the hoses?

Hoses look dry, seems of the radiator look wet. I want remove both fan clucth to get a better look. (Would also be a good time to do belts) and if the clutch is off I’m halfway to replacing the radiator. Although I really don’t want to

What is this part called? The wire coming out of it is starting to break down. Also not sure if this is another area for oil to leak.
Thank you.

Can’t say for certain on how much they start leaking. I’d post up specific questions in the 80’s Tech section for more views.

...and that 2nd part you have pictured is the crank position sensor.

go borrow a pressure tester from the parts store, and it will help you identify your leak spot.

Did a bunch of random stuff with the kiddos. Started with loading up a ton of random stuff.

Parked with best view of San Francisco, and thought of all the sorry saps circling endlessly for a place to wedge their car in the city.

Wedged my bike in my ARB to chase down my kid on his bike who was chasing down a gaggle of geese, and reflected on my cracked windshield.

Gave my dude his first land sailing lesson.

Then hooked up the "yacht" and went for a sail with my other dude.

Then remembered, I had to paint my gold wheel centers...and did that. (No pic, so it probably isn't true.) ..and reflected on how much I love my 80, she might not be perfect but she's sure perfect for me.
