Drove to yellowstone and back with our new camper. Maiden voyage. Still not firm on the tiny trailer concept... still feeling out the pros and cons.

Rig ticked over 320,000 miles shortly after my wife snapped this shot of the Tetons  It was so smoky from fires in Oregon and Montana that we could only see the silhouette on the way into the park.

Trip report:
1) Mileage varies tremendously depending on headwind. Ranged from 10.5 to 16mpg depending conditions.
2) need new manifold-to-y pipe studs. Slight exhaust leak that only shows itself when you wail on it
3) need new fan clutch juice, slight overheat that only shows itself when you wail on it
4) Cruiser is slow, need to wail on it :hillbilly: ready for that new turbo kit whenever you are, @scottryana

May have to trade my 80 in for one of these and turn it in to one of those!

You can buy them all day long down the street from me......starting around $3500 with new everything, and running great! Look for DRMO sales at your nearest military base.

There are actually a lot for sale in Hawaii right now. I was looking at a few and all the good ones were in Hawaii. lol.

I kind of dig these, put a fabricated camper box on the back and go! Haha. Government purchase price in 2008, $149,600. Current auction price $4,500, with 2186 miles. lol.

CAT C7 275hp and up to 925ft/lbs diesel and Alison 3700 auto transmission.

BTW those are 46" tall tires and I guess you can fit a 53"

Drove the Skyline Drive down the center of Utah with some friends. Nothing too special or crazy, and a little too much dust and washboard roads for my taste. But nevertheless it was good to be out and about. Learned more about my cruiser and things I need to replace/add.

My buddy just bought one from Camp Lejuene that came from a motor pool my other buddy runs! (2nd Tanks) anyway.... he got all the preventive maintenance paperwork from my Motor T friend after he bought it.... still had bumper #'s on it!
Anyone looking for 37's, they sell brand new Good Year hummer tires for $400..... for a set of 4! Makes me want to run 37's!....NOT!! Lol

Yeah but aren't those 37's for a 16.5 wheel? I am pretty sure that was the big argument when you could get 37's on double deadlock hummer wheels for super cheap but had to spend $700 on the adapters.

I cant imagine driving one of those on the narrow hilly twisty road of Hawaii:eek:

Drove around during tropical storm Lidia to check things out.

Definitely learned to never let your guard down that day. I was stuck behind a major river wash for 3 hours (tried passing through twice to no avail). After the water had settled down and I was able to cross, I was so excited to get back home that I was not cautious enough to notice this little drop within 200 yards of my house. The sand/gravel/mud buried my tires within minutes. All I can say is that the locals down here in Baja sur went above and beyond to attempt getting me out. Thank god my neighbors had a 4 wheel drive Tacoma!

@on3i11s there are certain things we don't talk about on here. One of them is if you get stuck and have to be pulled out by different vehicle besides a Land Cruiser.

Well, for my newb post, with my newb 80, I just bought, I went through it, lubed the chassis, changed fluids, need to change belts, took it out right down the road to the closest dirt hill and proceeded to blow out a tire.

They were old and too small, in the next month it's going to get a ome lift, 35"s, 5.29 gears, air locker, air pump and some other basic goodies.

Hope this was where I was supposed to post first. I need to try and figure out how to post pics without photobucket.

The post stated Thank god my neighbors had a 4 wheel drive Tacoma! It would be my belief the Ford truck in the picture was delivery beverage support only.
