16 hours of front end work in one go. With a LOT of help from a friend. First serious work since purchase. Turns out my Cruiser comes from an abusive home. :(

Had a great day with the wife and @chap79

IMO you won't know until you have the crank mic'd, check out the camshaft journals, and see what the cylinder walls look like.

It could be relatively low in hard-parts wear but had s***ty fuel which left a lot of deposits.

Ok. I'll take this over to my thread so as not to muddy up the weekend thread...

Did a full knuckle service. Had everything blasted and painted. New Brakes, rotors, new inner/outer wheel bearings and races, trunnion bearings, new caliper bolts, dust caps, seals, etc.

I need to gather the courage to tackle mine! This turned out really nice...... I can offfer you, and your "significant other" a room at the ocean, here in Wilmington for a small fee..... you helping me change mine out!! Lol

Agreed. The path to the right still has some good holes, but it is not the same as it used to be.

Is there anything in Anza Borrego with challenge anymore? Heart attack hill is cool but I dont think an 80 with flares 80 can get through the squeeze without damage.

Not really for serious wheeling, unless you go out right after some heavy rain and play in the washes. I haven't tried to get a flared 80 through the squeeze; but I agree, damage would be a given. Still a lot of great things to see though.

I spend more time wheeling on BLM then going to parks. Their roads are far less maintained.

FINALLY replaced rear hatch struts. Game changer, no more (literal) headaches, +5hp

Performed swap in parking lot of go kart racing facility -> not wheeling but good times..

Last week opened the hood to find coolant sprayed around. Looked like a pin hole leak from somewhere. My first suspicion was my epoxied on bypass tube that was fixed 5 years ago. But much to my surprise it was in the upper corner - go figure.
Ended up going with a Koyo - appears to be nice quality all around

Tearing in to the spare 1FZ-FE...

I'm having second thoughts about using this motor. She looks rough. Anyone have thoughts?

The other option is to do what's needed to fix my lifter tick/knock on my 93.

I'm with @bloc on this one. Unless you can see obvious signs of wear like metal shavings, scratches to bearing surfaces, bad cylinder walls, etc, you just don't know. It looks to me like they may have ran some different types of oil, or gone past on the changes. There was obviously some leaking happening around the valve cover which caked the side of the motor in burnt oil. You will be amazed how that thing looks after you send it through a parts washer. If it were mine I would get that head off and start looking at the cylinder walls. Then pull the pans and get a look at the bearings. If nothing stands out as obvious on visual inspection then its time to get everything mic'd. Or, if it cleans up nice and you don't see evidence of wear on the cylinder walls and bearing surfaces you might just throw a set of rings in it and call the bottom end done !

The usual. Endless Winter here...

I actually did some sh1t this weekend. To start with i deleted the PAIR system. Then I swapped out the heater bypass hose to a '95 variant - thanks for the tip @inkpot. This allowed me to start my next project which is some on board air. Step one completed. Thanks @NLXTACY. Oh I also swapped out the plug wires, rotor arm and dizzy cap...i have earned a beer or 20...:flipoff2:

Well I went to adjust the plastic rear bumper trim because it was crooked. Found the reason it was crooked was disintegrating mount location on fender flare. Next logical step was the start of a complete de-flare.

33's look really small now.

Gonna fill sand everything down and Monstaliner it. Just need to figure out mud flaps......ideas?

Also going to need a 4x4 Labs rear bumper sooner than I thought.
