My wife told me to ask you what drugs are you taking because she usually needs a lot of help around the house. Apparently wine does not do the trick for me.

Never been much on the sleeping. Too much going on.

Got up early in the AM after probably too many beverages last night. Was supposed to catch a flight to Tulsa and then drive on to AR from there. When we got up in the morning, we had a good idea our flight would be cancelled, but went through the motions anyway. Dropped off the kiddo's lab at a friends house, dropped off our yorkshire terrorist at doggy daycare, went on to the airport only to verify our suspicions that our flight was cancelled, then retraced our steps picking up the pooches, yanking hapless motorists out of ditches, etc, and finally made our way back home. The clunker was a beast and didn't miss a beat--despite some smoknig oil leak (turbo feed is current best guess). I also really like my hankooks for the snow. Pretty much zero drama driving all morning in close to the worst conditions I've ever seen.

Broke my old tow strap straightening out my bumper with a tree, so I picked up a new one at HF. Looks a little less burly than my old one (purchased at Lowes about 10-15 years ago), but for $12, it's better than nothing.

More drinks, then bed.

-21 degrees??? I can't even imagine....I was just complaing about our little cold snap here dipping into the mid seventies, and that I couldn't wait for winter to be over!
80's are meant for the snow. Heck mid 70's and I get heat stroke.

Well I have to respectfully disagree with you....some 80's and their owners ARN'T meant for the snow!

I noticed you are running the same tires "BFG All-Terrain TA KO2 285/75/16's" as I am. Those are snow rated tires. Let your 80 be all it can be.

Running the same. They are incredible in the snow.

Didn't part of Hawaii just get a bunch of snow?

Yes, on the Big Island up on Mauna Kea. Not uncommon though. Thought it was weird seeing that headline last week ... news making it seem like it is a crazy anomaly. I have vivid memories of surfing in 75f water, 80f air and looking inland on clear days and seeing snow capped Mauna Kea. Pretty trippy.

Changed the fuel filter. Here's the old one. Can't help but think a new filter should make some difference:meh:

Replaced my starter with a Bosch 2.2 Kw. I had rebuilt it and had it apart 3 times trying to get rid of the no crank issue, finally just replaced it.
Also made new battery cables. Greased the front knuckles and driveline.

I'm sure an impact driver would have been easier. Only one screw tried to strip. I think using JIS bits helped. This method only works with the radiator removed. Would have been super easy with the AC condenser out of the way.

Applied FLuid Film to prevent the rust monster from attacking. Warmed up enough today (55!) for me to attempt this for the first time. Was super easy and the HF el cheapo spray gun was a champ. I sprayed the crap out of the undercarriage but was careful getting to close to discs. Used half a gallon. Only prep was wrapping exhaust first to avoid the smell of it burning off later. Would be much easier with a lift though. Only downside is garage smells like wet sheep now.

I saw that movie I think, but the :princess: doesn't let me watch them anymore.:cautious:

She was a nice girl, down on her luck. The five gallons of gas I gave her will probably last two weeks in her beater Corolla. Meanwhile, I brought it with because I was driving across town... hahaha

Yup definitely saw it....

Joking aside that was a very nice thing of you to do

Haha.

Man, I love doing it. I've been fortunate to be on the receiving end of generous people helping me out throughout my life.

The best part of it was the cop that pulled up and said he was just getting ready to call in a tow truck because her car was "blocking the road". She couldn't have been there more than 15 minutes because I had just come from that direction and she wasn't there.

Oh, and both the 92&93 have handled the -20 air temp last night like a champ. Both fired up without skipping a beat.

Attempted to get the fill plugs off for my diff and transfer case. No dice. Didn't really try the drain plugs bc I need to do the tops first.

If you have a hex plugs to replace the original plugs (I highly recommend this) then take a slightly smaller 12 point socket and pound it on to the plug. The plug will be ruined so make sure you have the new plugs and crush washers on hand.
