Was done 120k km ago, but I didnt power it up to baby it, it gets driven HARD.

I have no doubt the boost has bought it forward prematurely, but it did have a fan hub going and got a bit warm whilst on the beach a month ago, which may also of contributed.

Just going to lift the head, chuck a gasket and bolts at it, and strap it back down to get through Xmas holiday away, as I was going to pull it to give it a refresh next year anyway 400,000km [250,000 miles] on the original bottom end, turbo charged for 240,000km, and on LPG.
If I remember correctly I saw in owners manual to PM the head gasket at 150,000 miles. You got an extra 100,000 out of it. That's an awesome testament to these hardy $50,000 SUVs.

Have a link for the shower have a friend looking for a cheaper one.

I have no idea if it is any good or not. Decent reviews.

I saw a similar one mentioned by @george_tlc that a buddy of his uses. I went to order that one and they couldn't guarantee I'd have it before our trip. So I took a chance on this one. Worse case scenario we don't shower for 2+ weeks...

Hahaha I posted it on here...
i think you even liked it

Man that's nice! Can't wait to see the first guy who does the 2017 cement color.

Someone get on that already...
I'm planning on it! Love that color. Just finished the HG and all the other while you are there things. Front axle last year. Now I can start making her pretty!

I have used one, works great. I kept my water can on the roof rack, so it picks up heat. By end of day I drop the pump into the can and take a great shower.

I'll be about 10-15 degrees where we are so I have other plans for warming water. Like boiling it! Haha

I lost my cool guy discount for Interstate Batteries (used to get them for free) so I had to find a new one. Got a customer that works for East Penn. They make industrial batteries for forklifts but also make Deka brand batteries. So this is going in place of the Optima Red Top that is five years old in the 92. The Optima hasn't shown signs of failure but preventative.

This is my shower solution. It works well as I was able to wash both dogs with a single fill. It also doubles as a water fire extinguisher.

Changed out the original starter--sounded like a cement mixer.
Changed belts out.
Draining the black fan clutch, installed a temporary blue fan clutch.

Shout out to @ToolsRUs and @inkpot! I learned a lot about nonNewtonian fluid. Pretty amazing stuff.

That's cool. I have other future plans. This is just to get through this trip...on a budget.

Pretty sad when your first step is to scrap the grease off. Much better now.

Hypermiled my 80 the last mile into the gas station. Thankfully in aggreable terrain to coast most of the way from first stumble but the bridge into town never looked so long. Seems my new used gas tank isnt exactly stock shape anymore so the light really comes on with 3.5 gallons left instead of 5. No more 50 mile radius from when light appears.

On the trip back from LA, going through NV, I've never been so happy to see a gas station. 24.96 gallons. It had been 80 miles since I last saw someone. Literally coasted in to Giggle Springs... phew.

@LS1FJ40 East Penn makes our AGM's as well. Good batteries!

Do you work for Deka? He was trying to get me to take an AGM but I told him I want two for my 93 with dual batts. :D The 92 is getting light duty/garage duty for the time being. Although she is out playing in the snow today!

New Hood shocks today, this last week had the Valve cover gasket, forward crank seal, outer distributor O-ring, Spark plug Tube seal, drive belts replaced at local shop. Also steam cleaned residual accumulation over the last who knows how many miles.

Do you mind sharing what this cost? I'm curious only because I recently did all of this and wondering if it was worth my time. Haha. If you don't want to share the price, that's fine too.

Did the cdl mod, was easy but it acted wierd at first.
Followed it by doing the 7 pin mod then took it to play on some piles of concrete, asphalt and junk. My urban rock garden isn't for everybody but I'm feeling invincible with the XML 325s and how they SEEM to be bullet proof.
