why more people don’t travel with a chainsaw in the vehicle is beyond me. It’s kinda a life line right next to the bottle of water and a wallet shouldn’t be in a rig without one.
Well, right next to the beer. And tow straps and the Hi-lift...

My pig has been down for a few months. Coming home from SAS last summer in Ouray the TPS seemed to be acting up a bit so late fall I put in a new one. Rather than the official Holley $90 one I read on the Holley forum that the Standard Motor Products TPS TH191 was the same and only $25…so I went that route. Welp after that install it barely started and zero readings on the TPS and IAC plus it idled high and ran at speed way higher rpms. Basically ran like crap. So I let it sit for a bit since I got busy on my latest project which is a 1985 FJ60 build. As I was thinking the SMP TPS was either defective or perhaps it was not compatible (different ohm requirement?) so I bought an official Holley one. Installed this morning and now it runs perfectly. Took a big long drive into Red Rock Canyon behind my house and man did it feel great driving my 1969 pig listening to classic rock and looking at the beautiful red rock mountain peaks. There is probably a lesson in here somewhere like don’t cheap out on important parts. LOL

Are those 33's w a lift kit? Great stance on that rig.

Yes those are BFG K03 tires 255/85/16 so that is (33.1” x 10”). It also has a Dobinsons lift kit installed last year as the original springs were just worn out. Looked OK unloaded but as soon as I loaded up for the Pig Party it just couldn’t handle it.

Those don't look like BFG ATs?

are they the falken wildpeaks?
You are correct. I have BFGs on all my other rigs but I bought the FJ Conpany replica wheels on a big sale which are 16” but still only 6” wide. That means 1) very tiny selection that fit and 2) shops like Discount Tire won’t mount them for you. I had to go to one of the many Mexican tire shops here in LV to get them mounted. Why FJ Co didn’t just make their custom wheels at least 7” is a mystery to me.

Glad you got it running!
Did you figure out if there were different specs btwn the Holley piece and the SMP one?

Does Kenda have an option for you?

It would be great to have a factory-looking wheel in the 7.5-8" range.

aren't factory 15" wheels only 6" wide?

I've never had a problem getting my 33x10.5x15 BFGs mounted on factory wheels (but have heard that others do have issues)

Looks good either way!
Yes the factory wheels are 15x6 but I never had those on my restomod. I had some period correct inexpensive but somewhat period correct looking old school wheels that were 15x7.5 with BFG K02’s before getting the FJ Co wheels.

I looked briefly for detailed specs but I didn’t see any on either site I bought from.

In the end I really like the Wildpeaks. They have a skinny tire look that goes well with the pig. Plus they have a pretty aggressive sidewall. I will say this but man tires have gotten expensive!

And yes FJ Co should have made the wheels in that wider range.

I sold all 5 tires and wheels with barely 8000iles on them for $400 to a young kid who drove down from Utah. He had a first generation 4Runner that he clearly wheeled with. His tires were practically bald in the 4R. Glad to see them go to a kid who would use them.

I got some film back from the lab and got some cool shots of the fj55 over the summer and the snow we had recently! these were taken with my rolleiflex 3.5f, Nikon s3 rangfinder, and my ricoh gr1s film cameras.
