Beyond cool!
Reminds me of fond memories of living in the mountains. Tractor was covered up after blizzard hit us.

Nothing, I did nothing, it's minus 45C (or F for that matter) before windchill and it's too frik'n cold. sh*t's breaking all over the place, tires are square, foam seats have turned to rocks, brake fluid is barely functional, the sky is clear but we have ice fog, anything plastic explodes if you look at it.

Oh Mylanta!
This sounds like an ignorant question, but would you leave? Or do you love it there?
For me it is hard to comprehend existing there...

We love it here. I moved back to the Yukon after a stint further south - I am still working and consider this pre-retirement living. We have access to unadulterated wilds in all directions, including Alaska. Generally the cold isn't that bad and our houses and gear are built for it. I get cranky at times as I havent built a shop yet and so working on trucks stalls every winter. Beyond that though, its spectacular - and some of the best hunting and fishing in NA.

Where were these ocean shots taken? Looks like SE AK.
Your cold snap is really something. It's even cold, as in single digits F, in my hometown of Juneau.
I for one am grateful for not being there right now. I'm in same locations as Sofj45, where people are driving around with windows open and shirts off. Well, at least I do with my no AC trucks. No cruisers, so will submit a photo of someone else's.

The wife’s pig got a new ps pump today, and of course had to drive the yellow pig for a parts run to finish the wife’s pig. Sun is out beer is cold and almost got it back together. Funny part is the new pump did the entire road trip with us. Just sitting waiting to go on but never got bad enough to replace. Only put about 300 miles on it since being home and it was done.

Do you use Napa, Oreilly’s, or…?

Oreilly for most the stuff, napa in Pahoa shut down. Won’t buy bearings or most seals from oreilly but all the simple over the counter stuff they are there and open almost early.

Well glad the old pump survived the road trip pissed enough as it is replacing it for the new pump to have a bad o ring where tank and pump meet. But would have been really pissed on the side of the road changing it out for the new pump to have worse leaks than the leaky pump. Pulled it back off and the o ring was folded and cut on install. Now to see if rock auto will do anything as it’s been 9 months since purchase and just installed my guess is no

I purchased an alternator for my FJ40 from Auto Zone and it was in stock. I think I paid $120.00
