I'm listening to a guy on a fiddle and a guy on guitar in the lobby of my building right outside my door to the stairwell. Sounds nice. They play almost every friday at lunch.

Just went through some Primus (small doses are best) and now Temple of the Dog came up. It was depressing then and it still is - guys just a few years older than me leading a MASSIVELY influential musical change via 3 bands while I was struggling just to keep up. Yes, I know Nirvana broke through first but Pearl Jam and Soundgarden were right on their heels. I always knew I was 5 years too young.

Seriously though, the TOTD record is great if you aren't looking for a toe tapper.

I'm glad someone else likes some Primus, not many people like the fretless bass styling of Mr. Claypool! I just recently added Pork Soda and Sailing the Seas of Cheese to my phone....

John Legend & Roots "compared to what" ..reminds me of Mr. Bill Withers, a lot.

Sidenote-going to Preservation Hall Jazz Band from NOLA over in Greensboro weekend after next.

My wife nagging me about something... And The Rolling Stones...

JohnVee - just listened to "I'm going hungry" by TOTD. Man, what an album!!!

Found an old Reel Big Fish cd this week. Pretty solid and forgot I dug some ska a few years back.

Also still think 311 grassroots album is one of my all time favorites...

John Vee... Primus I dig for sure. Made me dig the bass sounds of Flea from The chilli peppers alot more.

my oldest friend is runs the soundboard for the Bruno Mars tour and I know he's kinda mainstream most of the time but he's sent me a few of Bruno's jam sessions and the dude is a musical genius on a crazy level with quite a few instruments. Pretty cool stuff.

Lawn care day had a healthy mix of Taj Mahal, Zeppelin (Gallows Pole & Your Time is Gonna Come** are funeral songs of mine), Sabbath covers (you go Ugly Kid Joe!), Deep Purple, and a little Fogerty.

**Yes, I know it's a break up song, but I think they could sing anything with that melody to that music and it'd be awesome. Which means that, by default, so could Dread Zeppelin.

I think today made me decide to FINALLY get custom earbuds made by an audiologist. Something else to write off on taxes and I have no idea why I've waited so long - other than for the technology to improve. Looks like Shure is gonna get a little more of my money. Anybody else have custom buds?

Not right now, but last night… Galactic at Blackstock, SC. And quite a few others that were pretty damn good. My first time seeing Toubab Krewe. Good stuff for the most part. Plus I was getting paid to be there.

Re: Custom earbuds - turns out the Shures I want to use for the custom molds are $700 just for the drivers. Won't be doing that. I'll probably just do custom mold earplugs and then be happy with the collection of $5-$175 phones for music.

Been at work for 90 minutes already.... come on down to safelite you'll hear the five finger death punch from a few blocks away wailing out of the garage.... gotta love being at work by yourself :)

dot your i's and cross your f*$#*N t's cracks me up every time i hear it

My Bose QC15's gave up the ghost yesterday at work… Had to listen to air hammers pounding away at sleeve bolts. Y'all have any preferences for noise canceling headphones?

Holy crap! I'm home and wanna hear music! Tonight was gonna be a happy evening with Sponge's Rotting Piñata, then I realized it was actually a depressing 20 year back time machine throwback to when I thought I had a musical future. Where has the time gone? And why did Bush make it big but Sponge didn't? But, I digress. Great album.

Sugar is a good one. Every now and then I like to crank up the volume on P.L.U.C.K. Love me some SOAD!
