Koalas are not bears...they are more closely related to the opossum than bear
and they carry chlamydia (spelling?)
poor little guys need rubbers not guns
Fixed that for ya...
JP and a Penn state coach are in a hole together....who gets in first?

Forgot I was in chat.
Rick, is the campsite at the bridge decent, or is it worth it to continue to Bryson? I might take my son along and I know he could make it to the bridge but not further unless I carried him. Which would be another 40#'s on my back for 3 miles.

I think you ought to explore the Georgia side of the Chattooga river. There you most likely won't need to cut down any trees as most of the locals have done that for you. You will also need a burning cross and some white sheets.
The sites at the river are very nice. The hike after the river is a real cardio work-out.
Marshall is right about the Chattooga area too. I've done a few trails that follow the river, but campsites were scarce. We just found a nice open area right next to the river. Oh, and that was the GA side...fawk Marshall. The only trouble we had was a water moccasin but you probably won't run into him until May.
Pics again, as attachments...Suspension bridge over the Toccoa River and the BMT section 2 map.

I've got one and for a straight internet browser or for music it's good. There aren't **** for apps for it though. Nothing. There are some mods in the work to make it work on the android platform if they can get that worked out and if your handy with a computer it might be a good idea to get this. It's a nice piece of hardware but the software is ****.
Last time I was there this crap was everywhere. You can see just about every rock has a racial slur on it at the two main camp sites we found on the GA side. One which you could drive right in the river if you wanted. It had been all torn up by someone doing donuts. JP and I picked up as much trash as we could. Most if not all of the trees in these two areas had been hacked on or cut down. Really sad. If we were going to volunteer to clean a trail up this would be a really good place to do it. We could clean all the rocks up, clean up the trash, and try to plant some grass or something. Ironically the SC side is pretty much pristine. There is a really nice trail system that runs from Burrels Ford to Hwy 28. It's about a 13 mile hike along the river. If I were going with small kids though I'd probably do something around Jon rock or the pink beds in Pisgah. Those are some great areas. Also Something closer would be Jones Gap. Nice places to camp and some cool trails. We do our adopt a highway there. Or did. Jay you got anything scheduled for that this or next year?
