And that's why really should get one if you can...hack Android to run on it.

We didn't see anything like that where we parked and hiked in. We started roughly at Sandy Ford and made our way towards Hwy 76. First pic is where we started hiking, near a 6 foot falls. Second shot is where we camped - about smack-dab in the middle of the map, right before the trail diverges from the river.

The two fords that JP and I scouted where you could get them by car was Earl ford and Sandy ford on the GA side. Both were really rough as far as we are concerned. For a college of high school group they would be just fine. I always camped on the SC side of Sandy ford. You have to hike a 1/2 mile to get to the river. We used to see quite a few crazy parties over on the GA side. Ive probably camped at Sandy ford 50 times in my life. Just a great place to camp. Have to get there early on Friday if you want 1 of only 3 sites though. I'm sure the trails on the GA side are fine. I just wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my vehicle parked on that side.

you still got that video of you crossing Warwoman creek??

Yes sir. Good times.

Just had an employee of mine send out a mass email trying to sell an AcoustiMax stereo system. Said he would take best offer and start at $500. Said it retails for $5000.

hmm...sounds like a good deal. I'll take two.

s*** can the guy. If he is dishonest enough to try this on fellow employee's, he's probably already done it with other people.

I have seen it all now folks. Just had an employee of mine send out a mass email trying to sell an AcoustiMax stereo system. Said he would take best offer and start at $500. Said it retails for $5000. Classic White Van Scam. White van speaker scam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What do you think? Should I blow the whistle on this guy and probably get him fired or just let my dad know so he can politely tell him to back off and let him keep his job? It's one thing to be aproached by a complete stranger that tries to rip you off, but in your work place, by an associate? The world is finally going to s*** folks.

Jeremy

Sorry, I don't know your work situation/hierarchy or really who you work for. It sounds like you work at your dad's company.

...maybe he's just mimicking sales tactics that he, himself, has witnessed (victim?), thinking that it will work for him. If you're not his direct supervisor, proper protocol would be to contact his direct supervisor with the issue. Let his direct supervisor/manager do the "canning".

I'm good with searching on the internet. Very few things I cannot find.

Maybe he doesn't know they are crap. Maybe a friend of his asked him for a favor. Why not just talk to the guy? That being said I don't like to be around people that try to rip people off.

lolololol.... Figured u were going to reference a hole or something in there.

I talked to the guy. He isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. With that said it turns out he is a victom and just wants to get his money back. He doesn't know that it is crap, it turns out he can't hook it up to his old tube tv and he doesn't want to spend more money on a HD tv.

He was aproached by a guy at a bank that had a van full of them and he boughtne. Poor guy.

so what was crappy weekend all about?

Very good friend died unexpectedly.

He traded both of his cruisers in for a Rover and it didn't make it out of the dealership parking lot before breaking down

I did go to a Rover meeting last night. Drank some nice microbrew high grav beer and brought a growler home. Good stuff. Also received a BFG had in a Xmas gift exchange that actually fits my big head.

so you put a land rover, a pint of beer and a Steve in a hole....it's not a question...it's more of a suggestion.

Funny story...that trip was the very first weekend I had my FJC (July 29, 2006). Picked it up on a Friday and on Saturday drove it straight into the woods [Klan territory, apparently] with a couple of backpacking friends. Left it overnight near the trailhead, but I backed it up onto an embankment to make it a little bit difficult to approach.

sorry to hear that bro. Not fun at all to go through. My best bud passed back in july. We had been friends since 5th grade, although we hadn't hung out much since i got married and had kids we had hung out recently when he helped me work on my sail boat and put the SBC in the 40.

The whole time we worked on it we talked about going camping and having some beers around a fire...kind of like old times.

Was sad to take her out in September for the black balsma trip, my first wheeling/camping trip in the 40 and have to go without him.

I named my son after him...Jesse. Was great to find a way to let him live on but kind of opened a wound a bit especially when Jess's mom came to the hopspital to see him. I have talked to her on the phone a few times since his death but have yet to see her. Was hard to keep it together. We were very close to each others family.

I did find out that he went peacefully. He broke his back a few years back in a car accident and working in manufacturing he aggervated it more than a few times. He was on a few different pain meds. He took the wrong combination and passed in his sleep.

Not sure you ever get over that type of thing. Every time i drive out to my parents place and i see too many familiar places and it brngs the memories right back. It's hard to drive anywhere around the Wren School area without passing a farm pond all of us have spent hours bullshitting around, drinking beer and even occasionally fishing in.

I'm going to put my sailboat in the water for the first time since her restoration this spring(been sitting on the hard for 20+ yrs) and it will be sad setting sail without him after all the hours he help me put into her restoration.

so in my case have a:beer: afterall...it's what jess would have done
