Best Skater movie of all time!

My board was a Caballero Dragons/Bats board that I LOVED. It was the best Christmas of my life waking up to that board with Independent trucks and bones wheels.

hey packman u ever sell that 40??

Mine was a Lance Mountain, I too had indie trucks and bones wheels, along with several other sets. I can still remember pressing those bearings in to get just the right amount of speed depending on what you were riding, and adjusting the trucks... Wow... I remember having ollie competitions with my friends and damn near breaking my arm trying to clear 2 cinder blocks.

Scott should chime in on this one...He was into it for a looong time. His last time, he almost touched his shoulder blades with his foot. That pretty much ended his sk8ing, as he was already working for the sherriff's dept.

Is there an unofficial JP contest going on in the club that I am unaware of?

a few of mine

Thanks for reminding me of some really good times growing up. I used to travel all over to sk8.Wish the body was still able.

My last board that is still all together and a few I couldn't let go. As you can see some took alot of abuse. The last board was a Ray Underhill, I also rode an Alva "small room" for a long time. I had a ton of boards though. Some of my favorites were my BBC and my Jason Jessie that had the under sea pirate design on it. Any body remember the screaming hand(Rob Roskopp) by Santa Cruz? Always rode independent trucks with grind kings and mostly santa cruz wheels

The Blaize board was only ridden a short time. Blaze was a guy I used to skate with that went pro. I bought one of his pro model boards when I was in Germany and rode it for a month or two but then I found out he got killed in a car wreck so I retired his board and put it up. Guy was an awesome skater. He did some huge airs and front side rock n roll slides all the way across the ramp.

Here are a few pics from when I was still young and agile. LOL. I cant believe I used to do that crap on those 12 foot ramps. Crazy...... Guess thats why I prefer a roll cage now! I still rock the Vans and cargo shorts though, just minus the duct tape.

Old, Old School

I was at the front end of modern skateboarding, with the Proline Lexan in 1976. Mine was translucent blue, and the ribs supposedly made it unbreakable, that is, unless your mother runs over it with a 1976 Ford Granada. The skate board parks back in those days were either sloped parking lots or real concrete pipes. That board resulted in many scars I still carry. Pic from the web:

Sweet banana board. I love the old school Sims wheels.

Banana Boards

Yep, they called them banana boards due to the shapeand the fact that they mostly came in bright yellow!

The most fun we had back in those days involved a rope tied to the back of a bike, sorta of asphalt water skiing.

That board went with me everywhere I went, and tricks were limited to wheelies and face plants.

i was an aggressive skater....the skate boarders didn't like us so much.

Is that "us" because you have multiple personalities?

Jeremy

lol...well in all of anderson county i think there were 5 aggressive skaters and we all played on the same hockey team together.

Me and Mr. Davis apparently rode the same board. I got my first board in '77 or '78 for Christmas and it was a [edit]GrenTech II. Their GT logo looked a lot like Georgia Tech's GT logo too. Mine was a light blue, but not translucent, same red wheels. All we ever did was ride in abandoned parking lots that had handicap ramps and hop curbs. I was not a stuntman back in those days. Never could do any tricks. We just wanted to go fast. My dad made us knee and elbow pads by cutting the toes out of old tube socks and rolling them up until they were about 4-5 layers thick. You see, back then tube socks came up to your knees, so they were plenty long enough to make pads. Oh, and I still have one of the boards me and my brothers used to ride. I remember one of them actually broke one winter when it was below freezing and someone tossed it across the driveway. It shattered in two pieces.

[correction: it was a GrenTec, identical to this one...http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=320717882806 ]

The trucks and wheels all had the GT logo

Yes my first board was a yellow small banana board with clear red wheels. But I didn't have any place to buy it around me. Not in the small town I lived in Texas. Pretty sure my parents ordered it from JCPenny or Sears back in the day.

Looked very much like this one.

I had a real deal wood "skater board" with the decal and so on. Really nice.

I just sucked at it. BAD.

I went to BMX bikes and sucked even more.

hold my stones!!!

Um, that's the beast my friend... Know your cheap beer...
