Toyota 2000GT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The engine was a 2.0 L (121 in³) straight-6 (the 3M) based on the engine in the top-of-the-line Toyota Crown sedan. It was transformed by Yamaha with new double overhead camshaft heads into a 112 kW (150 hp) sports car engine. Carburation was through three two-barrel Solex 40 PHH units. The car was available with three different final drives. Fitted with a 4.375 ratio axle, the car was said to be capable of reaching 135 mph (217 km/h). It could get 31mpg[3].

This is the one I was thinking of when I said motorcycle engine.... although it wasn't a motorcycle engine it was a tiny two cyl. 800cc so essentially a cycle engine in size

Read it closely based on. Yamaha built the motor it was just based on the Crowns block. Toyota had no idea how to build a racing motor Yamaha did even though they had never built a 4 stroke.
 
Hahahaha....watching top gear and they are exploring east coast roadways and they are on the Blue Ridge Parkway in a porsche 911, Mercedes sls amg, and a Ferrari 458...they quickly realize the top speed is 45...they decided to find another roadway
