There was an owner of an auto dealership in Tennessee in the 70's that went to alaska shot a bald eagle , had it mounted and displayed in his dealership. At that time the baldie was on the endangered list due to DDT when caught with the bird in his dealership the Federal Agency seized the entire dealership and inventory and put the guy in prison for several years. I unerstand that they are now off the list but it is sure to be a stiff fine and possible prison time for even possising a dead one. Or proof (video for example) of the kill.

My wife worked with this bird and was involved with them around the great lakes. She said they have several layers of federal protection and it's still illegal to possess dead ones or even feathers. It boils down to its illegal to kill any migratory bird of any kind. Game birds are fair game but only in season.

I ate lunch with John yesterday and somehow I started talking about all the cruisers JP owned. John thought JPs first cruiser was the red 40 and the 62 was second. But it wasn't JP owned his 62 before the 40. What a nice 62 it was until he screwed it up.

And look at Chucks. This was when he had all 4 gears. And that's Alans (post Dans) red 40.

And look at John (aka Infojunkys) 80.

killing or owning any bird of prey will get you into a heep of trouble. Though, some are a little more accessable once they're dead. We found a grey owl on scout camp property about 15 years ago and went through the proper channels and did all the paperwork to have it stuffed and mounted in the nature center at Camp Bob Hardin. I'm not sure if it was stolen or if the gov't changed their mind but it isn't there anymore.

My dad and I found a redtail hawk on the side of the road one day a few years ago. We tried the same process but were turned down.

Baldies were spotted many times picking at deer and gator road kill when I lived in FL. Took hwy 50 through the st. johns wildlife refuge to work everyday. They are a lot bigger than they seem in pictures.

I've been through a few in my time with UC :hillbilly:

here is my first cruiser when it was durabak blue, way back in 2004 at the Hush-hole:

Then I painted it red, lifted, winch, swampered, and rolled it.... thus began my winshield less/ goggle period :hillbilly:

Next I sold my 40 to buy the :princess: a diamond engagement ring, but I didn't stay 40 less for long... a matter of weeks actually

Ive been going back and sorting all the club pictures I have collected over the years so we can get them uploaded to the club website. It's a massive amount. 9 gigs of pics. Spanning from 05 to today. It's like a stroll through memory lane.

Some of my favorites so far.

If you like stories about the civil war and can digest talk about slaves go to the IH8MUD chatroom and join Schat. I found a manuscript written by my great great great grandfather of his life after coming back from the civil war. It's a pretty amazing story.
