No mods. Just had the interior recovered, newish top. Paint is original but it's a garaged original so it shows pretty good.

Great little car. Does drifting so easy :)

Growing up in the country and one of the main sources of random trash is pick up truck people. They throw the trash in the bed of the truck and it blows out down the highway. Drives me crazy as they are still responsible. The fine should be $2,500 no exceptions or whatever amount will stop the flow of trash on to our highways.

WHat about the morons that still throw cig butts out? Unbelievable. $2500 no exceptions.

I am well aware of the pickup trucks and the 'accidental' littering - I've actually had pickup trucks stop at a spot on the road where they could pull off and actually dump their trash down the slope to a small creek - until I put up t-posts every 7' -they still throw trash out, but can no longer stop and dump..... sad times for the butts.

We had high school students fling a bag of trash out on 70 and we followed them and called the cops on them. It was crazy. In Kinston.

There used to be a number that Sarah would call when people littered. She'd give them the location, time and license plate. The owner would get a letter stating that someone witnessed them doing what they did at that time and date. I'll ask her about that tonight.

Yeah, I used to do that in Raleigh - doesn't work so well out in the sticks...... :)

I really loved my time in the Carolinas. There are many great things down there, but yes, the fxxxing litter everywhere.
I never got used to it and it always made me s little sad.

OK, so what's with the Caterpillar like penciled in eyebrows on women of late? Scary indeed!

Ticks!!! Was doin some mild bushhogging in the woods at the back of our yard and managed to get a tick bite on my leg below my knee. Manged to get the tick out intact and alive...bagged and tagged. Took pics with post it note, date and finger for scale reference. Not going to mess around with it. I'll be calling to schedule an appt with our GP....when he asks why i want to go the antibiotic route without waiting for the bullseye, i'll mention my sisters family with 3 or 4 chronic lymies, a medical bankruptcy, and 3 or 4 lifetimes of chronic pain and a myriad of other medical issues....

Local news stations say its going to be the worst tick season in a long time. They aint kidding. Stay safe.

Rant on again....got in to the my Dr, and have my antibiotic. Stupid little bloodsuckers (the ticks, not my Dr, he's cool...).

Deet up when youre outdoors, because Lyme is not anything you'd want to wish on anyone (including Kathy Griffin.......well, maybe let her have it for a while, she earned it)

because Lyme is not anything you'd want to wish on anyone

No kidding! Our oldest daughter (now 23) got it at age 15 and she has little recollection of most of her high school years and freshman year of college due to both the Lyme's and the demanding regimen of antibiotics, probiotics and supplements that she took every day. Very fortunate to find an alternative treatment that has restored her quality of life and appears to have kept her from passing it on to her daughter, now 11 weeks old.
We are always available to help others navigate treatment options for this often debilitating disease!

Ryan Niles capture one and disposed of it with extreme prejudice during out last off-road trip. After that, we where all scratching ourselves. Everywhere.

Oh boy...this is a good one...

Machine shop called and my head checks out, no issues, etc. etc. should be ready soon. But they now would rather me get the valve stem seals vs them ordering. No big deal, but they told me they would order...come to find out Amazon is out of stock and they don't want to have to charge me freight to order from somewhere else.

So, with Beno currently being out for his move, I've got to find another parts source. I choose to go oem and they're still available...shouldn't be a big deal. I've got the part number, easy peezy, right? Uh maybe not...

Called reputable Toyota dealer and asked for parts counter. Get connected....

Me: Hi, I got a few parts I would like to order. I have the part number, please let me know when your ready.
Parts person: what's your phone number?
Me: 910blah blah blah ( thinking to myself, why does it matter...but I'm sure the Computer asked him for it)
Parts person: Stephanie Mabe?
Me: yes, that's my wife.
Queue Uncomfortable silence....
Parts person: is there another number you want me to check?
Me: no, it's fine to use that number....she's my wife but that's my cell (beginning to get frustrated...yes I have zero fxxxing patience)
Parts person: uh, well, they'll need to number to get ahold of you.
Me: yes, it's my phone, just her name, feel free to change the name to Jon...same last name...it's my phone. Do I have to have a phone number to order parts?
Parts person: no, they just need to be able to reference the order to you.
Me: (thinking to myself...ok, do you want the fxxxing part number or my number)
Parts person: what's the part number?
Me: 9xxxxxxxxx (something another, whatever, doesn't matter for my rant....)
Parts person: uh....how many do you need?
Me: 12...how much are they each?
Parts person: uh...those are like 17.xx each
Me: wow, that seems really high. Most sites have them listed for 8-9 bucs each?
Parts person: yeah, the site includes a web discount
Me: (thinking to myself....holy fxxxing s*** this price is insane and how do you know how other merchants discount the parts on their websites) oh, ok, do you guys match prices or still do the ONSC club discount to get the price closer to other merchants, I'd like to support local merchants when possible?
Parts person: yeah, I don't know offhand, are there other parts you need?
Me: (deciding to cut my losses and not fxxxing explode on this guy) no, thanks. Thanks for your time, I'll get them elsewhere.

I then texted a buddy and was like - these guys fxxxing suck...they quoted me like 100% markup from retail. We texted back and forth and come to find out, this same merchant has a website and lists the part for the same as most others...like 8 something each.

So I order them from the website and get a confirmation. Jesus fxxxing christ...this dip**** at the parts counter was referring to their website...you've got to be fxxxing kidding me? I have to go online to get the same part from the same merchant for a reasonable price vs them taking the order over the phone?? Evidently...yes...no wonder civilization is going down hill with s*** like this (I kid I kid...first would problems).

I imagine I'll get an email from the same parts guy when my order is ready and then go in, he'll ask for my phone number and we'll go through the same fxxxing routine as earlier. Dumbass...

This type of experience is why having a resource/vendor like @beno Is invaluable!! He makes it so easy and we don't have to deal with all the bull**** dumbass mother fxxxers and get a stellar price!! What more could we ask for...well maybe less NLA parts but I digress.

Well damn Jon.... i was just gonna bitch about how easy it is to lose a beer when the power goes out

We spray all of our "outdoor" clothes with sawyer permethrin you can get it from dicks or rei
I read that wrong.
Dick's Sporting Goods.

The Sawyers works great but it is pricey at $16 for a 24 oz spray bottle. The active ingredient is Permethrin. Sawyers is .5% Permethrin.

The alternate solution is to get the 32 oz bottle of 10% Permethrin at Tractor Supply for $19 and make gallons and gallons of Sawyer-strength Permethrin in spray bottles as needed. Just mix it in with water. That's how I do it.
