So I'm going to hang my spare off the passenger side, but because on the other side I'm doing to do 3 water cans, then a propane tank on top of that, so that will totally block looking out the back...

Good stuff, sometimes, I just need to hear it from someone else to make sure I'm not crazy. Nice pictures Tony, I'm hoping I can make my way out and run some trails with yea!

Edit: humm, no, I think Jason is right, I have no choice but to put spare on driver, maybe I put propane tank above the spare? No that's sounds terrible. Back to the drawings.

Smaller propane tank?

I would not want to put a propane tank near bumper height. Gas cans can break and spill fuel which can ignite. But at 95F a propane tank is ~200psi and smashing into a full propane tank is like a firebomb.

As much as I like the idea of jerry cans even carrying those on the rear bumper concerns me. But at least those are likely above front grill/hood height in the above photo.

Went for a drive, wound up in Targhee National Forrest and then to Yellowstone National Park (4hrs away). Yellowstone was full of Asians and Indians. Wild stuff. Camped by some river. Estwing is an awesome axe. Found two hills that look like boobs. Got a cracked windshield (luckily only a $50 deductible).

Felt like garbage while driving back (skunked beer or something), so I snagged a cheap hotel in Pocatello. It sort of sticks out in a parking lot this 200.

Not pictured, I popped the winch's cherry. Not on the 200 of course, that thing is unstoppable. A Jeep tried to go up a snowed in path and ended up nearly sliding off the trail and rolling. Used a snatch block to a tree to pull him back on the trail sideways.

I will say I'm getting sick of people asking me if I'm a part of Expedition Overland. Just about everyone I meet on the trail asks me that.

Hahahaha take it as a compliment.

Spent a couple hours with the DA dealing with the pinstripes (AGAIN). That stripe that leads into the door handle was serious. I'm thinking of wrapping the doors with vinyl, they're just going to get striped again. Assuming I can find a wrap color that doesn't look awful. We'll see.

I used these products also with a red pad to apply the glaze.

Create a flawless finish in 2 simple steps with the Wolfgang Duo.

I'm not going to like that, because no one likes pinstripes. I'd like to see another opinion on vynal wrap, had a friend wrap his 4x4, but it wasn't very cost effective, because the wrap looked pretty bad after underbrush pinstriping also. I'm sure though like everything, there are cheap versions and good versions of wraps. Or I got two words for yea, "Line" "X"

I would only do vinyl if I can apply it myself for a few hundred bucks. Maybe I'll do something else though. I know after holding that DA for an hour I was ready to place an order for vinyl ASAP. I'm not quite ready for Line-X yet haha maybe someday.

I prefer Monstaliner to other liners and wraps. Hard as rock, easy to clean, doesn't fade and IF you need to touch it up, its pretty simple.

About 300$ and a long day for a single color liner job. Here's my last 60 with a dual color.

Someday I'll do something similar. Currently, I feel weird coating fancy new(ish) vehicle. I have no intention of selling this thing, ever, but still I'm a bit squeamish on lining the exterior for some reason.

Completely understand. I know the wraps look worse than paint when they get scratched up. My buddy has a RRC that he wrapped and its terrible looking now. He will be applying liner by the end of summer.

I think we're the same in this thought, and you'll find that your truck can look nice, but you also never worry again about scratches, or hail damage, or people around your truck again, which in itself makes exploring more relaxing. But it might be because you still want your truck to not look like a flat colored bed. Ponder a high gloss liner that doesn't fade, it's hard to get both of those features. I've used quite a lot of these liner products (because I'm never satisfied and question everything if everyone hasn't noticed already), and when it comes to replicating paint, Line-X Platinum can be glossy, but has much better UV stabilizers than flat liner UV stabilizers, plus it doesn't rely on being thick to be strong, this stuff is in every door jam, and behind every door panel, the dash panel, and the head liner. The FJ below is 5 years of Mexican sun and sand storms, and it looks the same as the day I sprayed it. That truck lived in thorn bushes and cactus and never had an issue. For imagination, look at the silver and white line-x areas, you could have that gun metal grey gloss liner applied and it would be pretty close to your current paint versus probably what we all think of with bed liner and being a flat, kinda dull color. You're not that far from to my buddies body shop in El Paso, he put that old FJ up against "show" line-x cars one time, then I realized how good he was, I just was going to him because I knew him, worked out though. The FJ lives on with my buddy in LA now, still helping make awesome memories.

If I could afford to do that without it costing a mint and a month without my truck...I would love to.

Just awesome. Love the worry-free aspect of it too. I also recall that you said it doesn't get hot--which was surprising to me. Great stuff!

What does that kind of treatment run? I could see myself doing that one day.

I should probably start taking pics while I'm doing something.

The brakes were squeaking a bit so I ordered some pads a few weeks ago and finally got around to putting them on. The rears had plenty of pad but the fronts were getting close. I changed all 4 though. I went with these. I'm going to get rotors next time I do the brakes.

Keep us posted on how you like these. I have the Hawk LTS pads, and they tend to squeak a bit more than I would like.

Night and day difference from whatever I had before (OEM?). Before it took a fair bit of effort and pedal travel to get this barge to slow down. Now it's a much more firm, solid, predictable stopping force. If that makes sense. There's a shortish off ramp I take here that requires some hard braking from 70mph. They do really well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again. One corner does squeak a bit but it's nothing I can hear in my rig with the windows up.
