Freedom Group is headquartered in Madison, NC and has publicly stated that they are seeking strategic alternatives for their firearms businesses - essentially they want to sell the firearms businesses. No company in their right mind would invest the capital to pick up manufacturing facilities and move them to another state if they were trying to sell the business associated with those facilities.

My $0.02 worth ...

On Edit: On page B3 of today's Wall Street Journal, there is an article stating that S&W and Ruger have asked for detailed info and ATK (owner of Blackhawk, Speer, Federal, etc.) has expressed interest.

Do you have something to reference showing this to be true?

trying to find the actual link but this was the clip I pulled from the article.

Remington Arms will be staying in the Mohawk Valley for the foreseeable future. Two days after sources say Remington Officials met with three State Senators and three Assembly, U.S. Congressman Richard Hanna announced that the Pentagon would be awarding Remington an $80 million contract. In the meeting, sources say, Remington told the State lawmakers that they were moving forward with a $20 million upgrade to their plant that employs 1,200 people.

Well not a Gun but I bought another bow this week. The Guardian just did not have enough DL for me so after a bit of searching and waiting I found this. 31.5 in DL here I come. I've wanted a 101st Airborne for some time. Will get my sights, rest and new mod installed next week and can't wait to cut it loose. These are some pics from the PO. Sitting on a UPS truck in GSO right now so I should lay hands on it tomorrow.

Sweet! I just got my first bow in November. A Bear Domain. I am looking forward to getting some range time now that the Outage is done.

Cerberus Capital, the owner of Freedom Group, is well into the process of selling - they're working with an investment bank. Having had dealings with Cerberus in the past, I can assure you they would not be spending the kind of $$$ they are certainly spending with an investment bank unless they were going to sell.

Additionally, Freedom Group (now Remington Outdoor Company, Inc.) have filed SEC documents indicating sale such as this Notice of Director Changes. The one linked indicates that a Director resigned from the Board since he is employed by the investment bank.

^ Understood. We have changed our vacation plans from Colorado to someplace else. If things don't change in CO, I'll likely cancel my '14 hunting trip as well.

Stopped by a LGS while out at lunch and was able to handle one sweeeetttttt 1911 ... Ed Brown Kobra Carry. What a doggone nice piece! Doubt I'll ever buy one of these, but they sure are nice

It's Here!!!

Well, it finally arrived. My very own "Best Implement of War ever created"! Here she is alone and then with her Mother and her Daughter the Springfield 1903A3 and the Springfield M1A Socom II. I have decided to call her Rosie the Riveter. I hope to get to the range on Sunday afternoon. I stripped her down and cleaned up all the packing grease. Simple to disassemble and reassemble. The receiver is dated around 55'. The barrel is 56' as well as the op rod. The trigger group is an older SA from the Winter of 45'. Everything seems to be in great condition. Well worth the wait. Full report to follow.

Very nice. You'll have to take me to your range sometime. We'll have a pair of Garands. Gotta test some of Sam's old ammo.

Some reading material if you really get into the M1 bug

U S Army FM 23-5 / Dept of the Air Force TO 39A-5AC-11. ( fairly easy to find reprints of the May 1965 version. If you can find the October 1951 version, you have a gem).

NRA: An American Rifleman Reprint "The M1 Rifle"

My Garand Does the Talking

A Collector's Guide to the M1 Garand

Nice. I've been eyeballing the new line from Bear the last couple years. They look like really nice bow's. Buying a bow is tough. There are so many great bows out there. A buddy of mine just bought the new Obsession Knightmare....That thing is so quiet it's sick.

I am a complete noob when it comes to pistols, but I bought my first one today. A Ruger P95. I couldn't find anything bad about it and for the price it was hard to pass up. It'll be a decent addition to my Mossberg 590 although not nearly as manly...

Well, it finally arrived. My very own "Best Implement of War ever created"!.

Everybody is so happy for your CMP Garand that they've left you alone about misquoting Patton. I've waited long enough, so here it is - "The greatest battle implement ever devised".

I didn't misquote it. I paraphrased it. ;) I was curious how long it would take someone to correct me. And it is absolutely the greatest battle implement ever created. Once you "Bing" you'll never go back.

Special Note for Sam, thought about you during the shoot. Here is a link to the quick video I made from this weekend. Enjoy.

Nice .... reminds me of some matches I shot on Fort Benning in the early 2000's. I miss having a true 500 yard range available to me. Were you shooting some of the match ammo you bought?

I do have a few scattered en bloc clips available for the Garand for you next time we meet.
