Ill back that thuper technical summation. Awesome weapon there. absolutely gorgeous.

I was hung up between the 220 and HKusp. Simply came down to which shot better in my hand. Well ok they both shot excellent. Came down to which one felt better, had easier access for my small paws, and could be found used but not to used in my budget. HK won out but only by a small margin. Now if i had funds to buy a new one it would have likely been a 220tactical i held on numerous occasions at Kens in madison.

Alex--- the dirty harry special makes me weep. Had long eyed that in dads safe and was bummed to find out he traded it on *gasp* a Block :D
8'' barrel 44mag polished chrome n bone. Will never forget firing that one.

more fun DC laws

So you now have to carry a DIFFERENT one of these for EVERY fire arm you have. The wallet is going to get thick.

Wow, just makes me want to move to DC. How much to renew?

I am a firm believer in background checks, it will not stop criminals from buying guns on the black market but if it keeps a gun out of just one nut job's hands it works for me. No plan is or will be fool proof, but if we can just keep some of the unstable folks from getting their hands on guns and using them it is worth the hassle to the rest of us.

That is what I like about the CCP. I have gone through the SC and the UT courses and background checks, been fingerprinted and photographed for both. Now I can purchase a firearm simply by presenting my card.

Tennessee was that way when they started issuing CC permits. Each permit was to a specified weapon down to the serial number. You had to go through the whole process (at that time, 5 weekends of class and getting a bond for the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (Sheriff) of your county for each permit. And you had to pick them up in person at the TN Attorney General's office in Nashville. Total cost was about $1K per permit. It has changed significantly since then and mirrors NC and SC.

What a royal PITA

^ that sucks, however, at least u get to CC at the end. This is JUST for ownership for each one. 1 hand gun every 30 days too.

great question. . .

also, if my wife wants to go to the range, i would have to ride with her till the dc line to the range. Only one name goes to a gun, and it is jail time if she had "my" gun locked in its case in the car in DC. This includes all fire arms. Even mace has to be registered to an individual.

I grew up in NOVA. I remember so many F'd up things about DC. Long before you could own a gun there. Got some good memories of Marion to keep me laughing tho!

oh Marion, does crack, bangs hookers, embezzles money, and he is still a council member to this day. . . Sorry off topic.

cleaning friday

good times. Nothing like a living room that has the seductive odor of solvent and gun oil.

Springfield Range Officer vs. Ruger SR1911

Thoughts?

The Springfield is more set up for target shooting, which is probably the more realistic use for me, while the Ruger is more set up for carry. The Ruger is a little cheaper, but both are reasonably inexpensive, for a 1911. I do like the finish on the Ruger better.

Just a question - but does anyone know if Chris Kyle and Bruce Willis knew each other? At the end of the new Diehard movie - I'd bet money that standing next to Mcclanes daughter was Kyle.. There's nothing on IMDB. The camera specifically frames the guy just long enough for you to wonder.

somebody else shot my target today at the range. I laughed.

Allen, my friend has a RO and he loves it. I'm not a fan of the rear sight but that is easily fixed. I am partial to SA weapons though so that gets my vote over the Ruger but I am not really experienced with Ruger except for the 10/22.

i would think the googler would prove or disprove it in one way, shape or form pretty easily. How was it btw?

It was not as good as the previous one..the action scenes did not disappoint! The car chase scenes made me positively jealous..no spoilers! There were a couple of good nods to the original-but Willis' lines seemed forced. Remember his conversation with Olyphant at Kevin Smiths house in 4? This movie doesn't have that laugh factor..as far as Google goes..I did. Then I decided that maybe I just wanted it to be him, and I guess Id rather think it was, than to know for sure. Maybe that's weird..oh well.

The R.O. is a great pistol for the money. If you are using to punch paper, a great gub for it. If you are going to carry it at all, look at something with fixed sights. Adjustble sights are a snag hazard and a possible failure point. I'm a K.I.S.S. kind of guy, fixed sights won't let ya down;)

My Kimber Eclipse Pro Custom is going to Heinie to get a set of Straight Eight sights put on next week.
