Yup, fun. Yet, that discipline takes themselves too seriously, pretending to make things "realistic" such that one can be penalized if one doesn't use cover "to their best advantage". Too much grey area if one likes to "compete". Typically, less round count also.

For competition, IPSC/USPSA has little if any grey area.

But, shooting is shooting, that means fun, right?

And see....that's why I ask. lol. We need to chat one day soon. I really want to get involved in this.

I took the SIG 220 out on Saturday to put some rounds down range. (see my earlier post on the 220) The gun is amazing. It cycles great with no issues. Aim is natural and the weight offsets the kick of the .45 quite a bit. Magazine change out was easy and slid in perfect. I am by no means any good at pistol shooting but this thing made me look great. Super accurate for me. I don't have any hard data but Zombies better beware. I liked it so much I just sold my XD-9 to a family friend and intend to pick up a 226 Combat tomorrow when the store is open.
Not only did it shoot great it made me look like I know what I was doing too. You can't hide the look of the thing like it belongs in the Middle East doing some damage. Now I just need to figure out what I am in fact doing and it will be great. The gun is much better than I am so it has some growing room in it. I guess I am no officially a Sig fan.

^ Welcome to the club :grinpimp:

I was helping some friends yesterday that are new to concealed carry. They are giving each other weapons for concealed carry for valentines day (gotta love that) and I offered to let them shoot a few things (without thinking) so they could see what worked for them without thinking ... when I got to their place with my small arsenal, I had to apologize for the lack of diversity saying ...

"if it's not a Sig or a 1911 variant, I don't have it ... well except for the odd wheel gun or two"

Nothing wrong with that. My guitar collection suffers a similar affliction but I don't care.

Agreed ... but when you are trying to let a newb feel the difference between quality and others, it does not work very well when your explanation is "here's another Sig, this is just (smaller / bigger / different caliber / different trigger system )"

You get the picture ...

And like John said, I don't care ... and I'm not gonna buy other items to make these few times workable ....

Nothing better than cruisers and things that go boom

I know I'm a little late to the party, but here's what's filling my safe currently:
-Mini14 Ranch in Archangel stock
-Saiga 12 (mid ban) converted with tapco AR stock and SAW grip, TAPCO American internals
-Sig SHR 970 in 3006
-Sig 226, West German era
-Ruger No 1 in 270
-Savage 3006
-Savage 17HMR bolt
-Ithaca 37
-1903 Greek Mannlicher, given to my dad by a patient who's brother took it from a dead German in WW1
-Two older 12ga double guns that were my dads also, one over/under one side/side. Pretty but long gone brands.
-4 air rifles...varmit, pest, and occasional waterfowl guns.
-broken marlin 22 (semi) given by a coworker that I fixed and works as a single shot :)

First four and last four are mine, all the rest were my dads or grandfathers. And now that my brother is moving from Greenville up to DC...his new S&W MP22 lives with mine for a while ;).
Took the picture when we moved and had them all out together for the first time since I got all my dads guns.

Been thinking about selling or trading the Saiga for a while. Just not sure what for. Would like a 45 or 40 instead of the 9mm Sig, but it is a good little gun. Or a pistol caliber carbine like a Ruger PC9/40 or Keltec Sub2k? Who knows...too many guns and too much money going into Toyotas :D

From the local armory/range:

Here Is A Small Comment On The Industry From Mark LaRue:
The current gun/ammo panic buying frenzy is unprecedented. It has been stronger and lasted longer than any previous buying frenzy. Here is an update from industry leader Mark LaRue:

>
> Status of gun industry
>
> Attention F.B. fans: to follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.
>
> Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.
>
> RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.
>
> FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!
>
> Armalite: Maxed out.
>
> DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
>
> COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
>
> LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.
>
> Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.
>
> AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.
>
> MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.
>
> RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we'll keep you posted...

> Related commentary from Bob Owens :
> They didn't know when they'd be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn't come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn't just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I've never seen anything like it.
>
> Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn't a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.
>
> Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and the rest of the Statists have done more to promote gun ownership than the NRA ever did. Well done, Democrats!

Let's give credit where credit is due.

When the industry gets tooled-up I reckon prices will get 'corrected' and this is going to be fun. Hang in there.

Exactly. I had also read that Hornady is also running a 3rd shift to try to keep up which it has never previously done.

My daily carry is a Sig P239, and I love that gun, and it has never let me down, not one malfunction to date and it has had it's fair share down the pipe.
