Brian,
I have the rear door fixed window W/S from a 72 you can have to get profiles. I think you will need three profiles IIRC...

PM me you address and I can send it to you in the next week or so...

am needing this seal........pix courtesy of "poohs55".........when this seal goes then the water drains down the firewall and runs to the ground...........BUT when the bellows and firewall grommets are rotted out......... then the water runs into the cockpit and helps jumpstart the rust process in the floorboards; mine are gone so am needing a good sample also need to know if they are different pieces or just an extrusion that has been glued into place with a curve........TIA;

Lou

Look familiar?

Cowl to hood seal
1 1/8 x 1/2 x 16 1/2"
And it is an extruded piece. What is shown is a foam core over a or rubber cover.

It is not a formed piece.

I'm pretty sure I can source this one. I just need some time.

Outer door seal
This seal has many profiles. At least three.
Here is one.
3/4 (longer finger) x 1/2 x 1/2(shorter finger)

This is it beside the replacement from JCWhitney most are using. It's much smaller.

This is the install of the JCwhitney outer weatherstripping.
I don't know which part # is for what door.

This is how you cut the old out. Slice it down one side.

I used a screwdriver to poke it in the channel. Worked well.

this is a great sample.....I suspected it was only glued to the cowl in the appropiate shape...or glueing the extrusion to shape might work....will give you a call tomorrow

the "white" pins are for the front door; "red" pins rear door.......I ran into problems on the bottom of the door getting the pins to stick.......you can see my solution posts 187 to 192 on this thread.......still working well over a year later:)

Two questions!

Do we have a comprehensive parts list for all the weatherstripping that fits the doors? Vendor names and part number/location?

Secondly, once we get all this hard to find weatherstrip on our trucks does anyone have any ideas on treatment to make sure it doesn't go hard like in the past? I've found most all the weatherstripping, now I want to make sure I don't have to do that again in a few years. My truck is here in Guatemala with me where the weather is sunny most every day.

And to make folks drool, I believe I have found a set of NOS rear door fixed window weatherstrip! When I get my hands on it you'll see the install post on my POTM thread.

NOS? 1. What does that mean and 2. Are there any more?!?

As Lou said, new, old stock!!

He has no more of the small door window weatherstrip but he did have a vent window weatherstrip and the upper tailgate weatherstrip, both of which I either do not need or already have.

Any info on the care of weatherstrip to prolong it's life??

personally like Meguiers rubber protector.............welcome any comments on it or other products.....TIA

Question: should we let Fine Wyns evaluate your NOS pieces for prototyping?

The way I look at it, slocruisers is making it already so we should concentrate on other "unobtainium".

Hi Charles,

Good to see you can still find NOS FJ55 rubber in Guatemala. Do you need the door hinge rubber gaskets for your FJ45LV?

Still working on getting a batch of rear door fixed window rubber made. With the NOS, I guess you don't need a set anymore.

Rubber

Just thought I would share this. I spoke with Steele Rubber Products a few months back about hard to get rubber. They said to send them a sample of whatever I needed and they may be able to find something close. I have used them in the past for muscle cars and they make good stuff. They are a very well known reputable company I also hear they can MAKE anything you need. With all of us needing rubber it might be worth checking out.

I have the door hinge weather strip for the '45LV so I'm good there. I got them from someone who was making them up a year or two ago. I have not installed them yet. I'm just collecting parts as they come available and before they become "unobtainium" once again.

I have not seen the rear door fixed window weatherstrip yet. I found it online from someone stateside who was cleaning their garage after selling their '55!! I had it sent to my bro's place in Sacramento as sending it to Guatemala would be too expensive and potentially dangerous in loosing it. I'll know in the summer what I actually bought :) Hopefully my bro' is OK with having this stuff sent to his place!

I got a set of fixed window rubber from John at Slocruisers and it's great! I took it over to the glass shop this morning. I'll let y'all know how it goes. After 2 years of pieces and parts, I have OEM or reproduction rubber for everything on the truck except the door weather stripping. I have JC Whitney, so we'll see how that goes.
