As some of you are aware my father has been critically ill lately. Due to this, and other reasons, it is with great regret that I am suspending all harness building effective immediately. I have finished up all the harnesses in the shop and they will be shipped out this week.

I will continue to sell parts and wire. As always send me an email if you need parts or advice. I will continue to haunt the forum when I can.

Thanks all, my father is 79 and has been a quadriplegic for 35 years. He lived on his own up until 2 years ago when he had gall bladder surgery. He had issues with the surgery and was not able to continue to live on his own. He became bed ridden and is currently fighting a bone infection due to a bed sore that got out of hand.

We appreciate the sentiments, they have been passed on to him. He is VERY religious and believes that prayer is the solution to his problem. I just wish it were so simple...

Prayers for healing, peace and comfort to you and your father.

Having just lost my mother a week and a half ago, I feel your anguish.

My prayers are with you, and I wish your dad speedy recovery.

As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, I agree that bone infections are difficult, but they are treatable. Gallbladder surgery almost killed one of my fellow Orthopaedic Surgeons during our residency program. They are great surgeries for most people, but occasionally can go very wrong. Stay strong, stay positive, and let your dad know just how much you care. Leave nothing unsaid.

sorry to hear you are going through a tough time

we use up our time on diversions and it is nice, but then sometimes what is important comes suddenly into sharp focus

we look forward to hearing from you whenever we can

I wanted to update this thread so folks would know why I have not been responding to emails/PM and phone calls:

On November 20th I received a call from the nursing home in Blacksburg, VA where my father is. They said he was critical again and we should come. We stayed with him until Saturday hoping he would improve but he continued to go downhill. The last time he spoke was after members of his church came to pray with him Saturday evening. We sat up with him all night and on Sunday November 24th, 2013 at 9:30 AM my father passed away.

Due to the bad weather and the Thanksgiving holiday, we buried him Saturday November 30th, 2013.

I thank you all again for the prayers and thoughts and especially for the understanding. It will take me a few days to get back into the real world of work and life. I have many emails to read and phone calls to make. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
