I've been very busy this week. I have to pick up a clutch master cylinder tomorrow and I should be able to drive it around the neighborhood! :D

It's Alive!

A couple of the neighbors were giving me funny looks as I was driving up and down the road shouting, "It's Alive! It's Alive!". The lady next door asked, "Did you make that Jeep? Is that what you've been working on?"

It has an exhaust leak somewhere that I have to find and fix...tick...tick...tick...tick...tick...

Been making a little progress. Windshield frame, doors, fenders, & aprons are all painted. Just have the bib, hood and tailgate left! I'm hoping I can have it done by the end of next weekend!

Cadmium plating. Not yellow zinc.

Truck looks amazing...that must be an amazing feeling!

Actually, it's yellow zinc (chromate). You aren't going to find a DIY kit that allows you to handle real cadmium. The caswell kit does zinc (in any chromate flavor) and with the zinc brightener left out, will imitate cadmium plating. That's why they call the kit "Copy Cad". The kit produces the same shiny yellow zinc coating that was applied at the bolt factory. Cadmium coated fasteners have a rougher finish. You see them on older American cars.

Wow!

Looks awesome....you are on the homestretch now.

Great job

Got the bottoms of the fenders Raptor Lined tonight after work. While I was prepping them, the UPS man showed up with a box full of goodies from the Toyota parts man.

I also started working on my running boards, but these things have seen better days. Anybody got an extra set from a '79-'84 they wanna sell?

Got the fenders and aprons bolted on. Just had to toss the Land Cruiser emblem on there!

Also scored a mint Windshield and some nice running boards at Cruiser Solutions on my way home from work the other night. Thanks Tedd!

Doors are painted and ready to install. Except for the fact that I forgot to paint the hinges when I painted the rest of the stuff last weekend.

Sandblasted and epoxy primed the running boards, bib, hood, and hinges yesterday. Should have them all surfaced and blocked by the end of tomorrow. Then paint! Almost done!
