One could do some thinking and add a small shock (HD hood shock off eBay) and add it to the swing out. That way if anybody small opens the swigout and they are parked uphill. They won't get the ride of there life or a half moon on somebodies hood.

So unlike the picture I posted, you must pull the pin after unlatching the swing arm then open to a limited radius and then the pin drops into another hole, is that correct.
Thanks for post the close up, is there other pics of this bumper since I am new to the 100 forum.
This has been a debate for a while in that it adds an extra step, but we feel it is worth the safety.
lol. How bout a guess? Jerry can holder for one.
Better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission :whoops:
Right now not many pics. Yes, the pin is in a hole when closed and open. When closed it is a double safety for the latch. If the latch should fail or pop open, the pin will prevent the arms from swinging. So yes, you have to undo the latch, pull the pin and then swing the arm open.

I also went wild and towed with mine too. My first load was our 16 foot stock trailer with 3 cows in it. I'm guessing probably in the 5-6k range. I'm not a person who throws caution to the wind by any means but there is no reason that bumper can't handle towing.
