thanks for the show. been wondering how the Holley retro-brits do. might be getting those sometime. just don't drive much at night anymore.
My gut feeling is the Koito lenses with the Diode Dynamics bulbs are brighter but until I can do a side by side comparison with my 60 it’s hard to tell.

I have them on mine, and love them. The color temperature is not too cool, the bulb housings look very, very similar to OEM (rather than the vast majority of 7” round LEDs on the market), and they are very effective, as shown in @DrRock’s images above.

I used Koito H4 on most of my builds. Cheap and effective but if you need a lot of light, they are not the best choice with the bulbs they come with.

A few years ago I went out and bought 4 sets of bulbs.

Obviously the LEDs were the brightest but they had no cut off for the low beam. They provide the best light but low is all light and people flash you incoming the whole time.

Some people don't care about that but
I'm a softie.

Enter the Retrobrite which as Redline70 says has great light and as the photos show, a cut off.

DrRock says the Diode Dynamic are the bomb so I ordered some for my latest project.

I'll see this week if they have a decent cut off. That's where I am on that. Hate getting flashed.

If you are in America or Canada and have round headlights then this is the answer: 81110-60P70

I’m in Canada and got mine delivered in 5 days from Toyota Parts Direct for $45.76 delivered via Canada Post. $23.31 plus tax and $17.55 shipping.

In the US: https://parts.capovalleytoyota.com/search?search_str=81110-60P70

It comes with the light housing and 2 12v H4 bulbs. I have to buy some 24v bulbs for mine, but I wanted to have a spare set of housings. It also comes with a relay and wiring harness if needed, plus a large package of zip ties. Possibly one of the best OEM parts deals ever.

That what I'm taking about adding different style bulbs too.

Commonly called Koito H4 upgrade

I loved the Stedi lights on my troopy.

Preview of coming attractions, Manta full exhaust in stainless steel with headers. Looking forward to the install and better flow versus the stock manifold:

Nice looking exhaust. Does all that just bolt in? I recently replaced mine with OEM parts from the manifold back or I would take a serious look.
Manta says this is a direct bolt in. I'm just waiting on some new exhaust studs and support hangar rubber blocks from the dealer. Once I have those I'll do the install and report back on fitment, quality and overall impressions etc.

As @prwillard2 mentioned Stedi is another good option for 7" headlights. They've got a projector version, and a more traditional looking version called the Homage, they're LED and come in either a warm or pure white with a proper cut off and DRL functionality. I went with theses on my 76.

Completed a quick project after work. Found a nice LED license plate light from Dissent off-road. Quality is excellent and fits nicely under the tail gate. Housing is aluminum and the LED is fully potted so it should last a long time.

Just got a these, a set of Braid Dakar T wheels 16” x 7” -20mm offset. Thanks to @DKRBJ71 for the inspiration. Got these in matte anthracite to fit the resto-mod theme that this truck is going to. Will get these installed once I have a low salt day to head over to the shop and have them swapped on. Build quality is outstanding, they also have steel inserts where the lug nuts interface with the rim.

I would like to have this great kit too, but as my Cruiser is a 24V, I hesitate...
Is it enough just to change the 12V bulbs? @OGBeno suggests that (12V) relays must be changed too...

This is a really great price on a great product: 40 Series OEM headlight upgrade Part # 81110-60P70 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/this-is-a-really-great-price-on-a-great-product-40-series-oem-headlight-upgrade-part-81110-60p70.1373442/

I had bought Koito HSSB-16-24HP and ended up swapping the 24V bulbs out of that into the lens from the 60P70 kit. The reason I ended up doing this was because HSSB-16-24HP are RHD lens. I needed the LHD lens out of 60P70 kit.

Didn't have to do anything else and it works fine on my 24V HZJ77.

That is what I intend to do as well. Use the lens and housing and swap the 12v H4 with 24v H4 bulbs. It will shine waaaay more light then I’ve currently got.

No need to use the harness supplied, but if you needed to, then you would need to swap the 12v relays to 24v. If someone knows a good source (and a part number) for the 24v relays, post it up.

I’ll document what I do in my build thread. Maybe I’ll start a how to thread as well, with my findings, if it’s not already done.
