When you spoke to Decked, did they provide you with the raw size prior to any cutting?
It matches the tech specs on their website. I think I ordered for a Tacoma initially based on the specs shown and what came was much narrower. When I called they said the specs are for BEFORE they are trimmed down fr the vehicle specific application. This seemed kind of idiotic to me, since if I were comparing measurements to a Tacoma they would have been way off, but that's how they did it. Had to cut an inch or so of width on each side. Plan is to use flexible black exterior caulking along all edges for a clean finish.

Hello, thanks for the information. How did the fitment work out front to rear? I’m going to be sending them my CAD model with the appropriate dimensions in the hopes this will facilitate the conversation and so I can get more information on what they offer so that others here can benefit. I’m a fan of having plastic over metal as it’s not prone to corrosion and as long as they performed the FEA correctly, it should yield a strong platform. It’s also nice not having metal like aluminum that ends up tarnishing everything it comes I in contact with sure to rubbing etc.

I mounted fully towards the cab, so there is abut 1' of space between the drawer front and the tailgate. Kind of a nice place to tuck things.

Super, thanks! I might bias mine to the rear then as I have my spare located in the bed behind the drivers side.

That's what I was going to do originally, but it actually fits better width wise to the rear. If you were to bias it forward, you would need to clearance the side panels around the wheel wells. And TBH, it looks way more "finished" having it towards the rear and the "pocket" is much more accessible and usable. My eventual plan is to move the spare tire holder up, and have it rest on top of the Decked unit. That, or handle it with a rear bumper with tire carrier.

Can you post pics of your setup?

Not the greatest photos, but this is what I have on my phone right now. Temporary "solve" for the spare tire. I also did some 3/4" horse stall mats underneath and had the bed rhino-lined prior to install. Still need to do the seams and am thinking of a custom face panel for to the sides of the drawer.

Amazing, Nolen beat me to it on the picture request. Thanks a ton for posting these. Really dig the height and how it closes the gap along the sides. Mine has raptor liner in it and I bet if I don’t do the horse stall mat the Decked top plate will still cover the sides well. I’m also going to fab up a stainless sheet to cover the inner side of the tail gate. I’ll do up a CAD model and drawing so if you’re interested I can share the model or make an extra for you. Let me know.

For sure. If you can bust out another one at the same time, might as well ;)

The horse stall mats did add some height, but I think it makes the side (top access) compartments more finished. I was admittedly rushing when I cut my side panels down, so my gaps aren't perfect, but with some good caulking it should clean up well. Also make sure to fully think out the mounting points, as my first ones interfered with the drop in tubs. Also, on the drop in tubs, I had to modify them to clear the wheel wells. Essentially cut a corner out, inverted it, and epoxied it back together.

Will do, probably a few weeks out on getting the CAD work done but once I have that I’ll get this of to the laser cutter and have him do a few. I plan on using some rivnuts and some of the factory fasteners to hold it down. Any feedback or thoughts are welcome.

Got a preliminary design completed for a tail gate cover for the inside of the gate. Would love to hear some feedback. The dimples are 10mm deep but can be changed in shape and depth. Material will be 1.5mm 304 stainless steel. I'll be adding mounting holes once I confirm the dimensions and they will use a 4 of the factory holes at the top and several others that will need rivet nuts installed. Cost is looking like ~160USD plus shipping if you are interested. If I get more than 6 or so, I can get the price down a bit.

Made some progress with the stereo and got the head unit and speakers installed. Sounds really nice while retaining a period correct look with some modern amenities. Despite the speaker upgrade and based on the space constraints, the 4" speakers are a bit underwhelming due to size so I've ordered a jbl nano subwoofer which should fit nicely behind the seats and improve the sound quality. I also ordered a lock set so all the locks will use the same key. After pricing this out, the complete lock set with new gas caps was a better move rather than having each individual tumbler updated. Thanks @WarDamnEagle for posting the part number for the kit in your build thread. Ordered from Partsouq and had it in 5 days. Amazing.

Nice tunes.... You going to see Rush next year?
Ha, I was wondering who would pick up on the Moving Pictures title :). Yes, going to see them at MSG. Saw them for Moving Pictures, Grace Under Pressure and Hold Your Fire tours back in the day. Really looking forward to seeing them again with the new drummer, she is incredible.

Nice. I was at HYF/Presto/RTB/Counterparts back then all at Brendan Byrne.

Went to summer music camp at Tanglewood with Neil’s deceased daughter. Met him once on family day.

Spent some time tonight getting the headlights and Baja Designs auxiliary lights set up. The regular headlights are Holley Retro Brights and the Auxiliary lights are Baja Designs LP 6 Combos. For the regular lights, I have some marks on my garage to get them in where the FSM for my 60 says to set the height and side to side. For auxiliary lighting, I just ensure the two lights are coplanar and perpendicular to the axis of travel. One can do this by setting a straight edge across the faces of both light’s simultaneously and rotate them until the straight edge is flush across both surfaces of the light. The Baja designs are flat so this is easy. For vertical setting, I use a level and ensure the face of the light is at 90DEG to the ground using the bubble level with the truck parked on a level surface. Below I have shown the lights on in the following order: 1. Factory low beam. 2. Factory high beam. 3. Factory high beam and aux flood. 4. Factory high beam and aux spot and flood. What I love about the flood is how much lighting goes off to the sides. The spot light is just amazing. For reference, the tiny spot way out in the distance is a reflector on the road .5km (.3 miles) away.

Final thoughts: The Holleys are a nice package with good cutoff for regular street driving. When my 60 comes back from Kelly Saad I’ll do a comparison with the Koito factory lights with Diode Dynamics bulbs to see how they compare against the Holley retro brights. The Baja Designs products are always top tier. I will however install the amber covers as it helps reduce glare back to the driver, especially in dusty or foggy conditions. I really love the side coverage as it helps one see critters on the side of the road to avoid collisions. This section of dirt road is straight for close to a mile. Since there are no speed limit signs I was able to really give the truck the beans and with the full spot on, never felt close to running about of light.
