I might be up for leading a drive and hike combo next year. I really enjoyed all the seat time but I am just as happy on two legs, so next year I will probably try to identify a few hikes I would like to get to.
I'd highly recommend Blue Lakes from Yankee Boy Basin. Here's a photo I took years ago from the summit of Mt. Sneffels:

@Tank5 I bet that 45 belongs to either @rckhound (Steve) or another Colorado guy named Justin that we both know. I noticed Justin was posting pictures on Instagram from Ouray, but I didn't run into him. Both cool trucks.

And I fully support a 45 pickup only run next year. I just want to follow y'all and get some photographic evidence.

plain. Eric and Ian did a fantastic job chasing amazing shots in camp and on the trail.
Special thanks to @ThatKOAGuy for the outstanding job he and his team did for our group this year. Made a huge difference.
Lastly I'd like to thank our sponsors. Without them we wouldn't have the raffle to show appreciation for everyone attending. We were able to raise nearly $4500 that went directly to Ouray Mountain Rescue to support their volunteers and dedication to getting people off the mountains when in need.
On behalf of the SAS team of volunteers I thank you for spending your vacation with us. It's truly a pleasure.
Casey..
I couldn't agree more. It is deeply humbling to see what this "Little Ol' Cruiser Gathering from Texas" has become. I value the friendships we have forged, and the fact that we can support OMR in a meaningful way, is a blessing from all of you. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. We couldn't do this without the support of the SAS family. Your kindness and generosity never ceases to amaze.

@4Cruisers,
I climbed Sneffels in 2020 during SAS 4. This year I hiked to the saddle between Blue Lakes and Yankee Boy Basin. It seems like everywhere you go there is pretty amazing.

@CruiserTrash,

I think I recall the owners name was Justin and he is a member of the Rising Sun Cruiser group. Real nice guy we chatted a bit while I checked out his 45.

Yep, I know Justin from Rising Sun. Blonde hair? Really great guy. He’s also got a 13BT swapped 40 crawler that’s pretty dang cool. The other guy I mentioned was at the KOA with his spring green 45 for a couple days.

Definitely belongs to Justin, I have wheeled with him many times at Cruise Moab.

It was so cool to see him and Andy when we were airing down to run Black Bear !

Not yet. Ian said he would have photos ready ASAP. He will be editing and pulling selects prior to releasing them.
I’m working through but I’ll be sharing a folder with you sometime today. Text me your email please.

Hey Guys!!

The Ouray KOA is holding next year’s week for us until we are ready to release the information to you all. Please don’t call and try to book because they will not let you and you’ll be directed to me.

We are aware that you’d like to book a site ASAP. The sites for the week are being held for SAS and not the public, there is a total of 164 sites and we booked 95 of them this year so there will be plenty available.

We are first making sure the directors get the sites they need and then we will open it up to you guys first and then the public will be able to book after March (I believe). So we have plenty of time. I will be giving you and the KOA a heads up before the dates are released so keep your eyes on this thread.

Thank you for your patience and please message me with questions and concerns. I’m here for you!

(FYI @ThatKOAGuy)

Hello everyone,

I just want to say thank you to every one of you. Last week was the best SAS so far. We had zero complaints that weren't due to other guests just being jealous of the fun you were all having. I greatly appreciate you all making it easy on my staff this year. We are greatly anticipating another great year next year.

I especially appreciate you all taking good care of Jeff Marchio and his staff. You all kept him busy and making the great food he loves to make.

If you all have a few minutes and don't mind we would appreciate you leaving reviews for the campground. It helps me to show the corporate office that you the guests appreciate what we are doing here. It also allows us to show the corporate leadership that these types of events are a huge benefit to us as a campground and to the groups we can reach and provide an awesome place to meet.

To those of you I didn't get to meet and shake hands with, make sure to yell at me at SAS9.

You all picked a good week, Black Bear and Imogene are currently closed due to the mudslides from the rain we have had the last few days.

Cheers

I had a great time in your campground! everyone working there was extremely nice, the whole place was super clean and very well kept. By far the nicest campground I have stayed in! Thank you!!!!

SAS8, day 5 plus 3. 😆

Chris and I survived camping at 12k feet and made it back to the campground.

Drove up in the dark which wasn't too smart, but we pre-ran the route earlier in the day.

Did some gold panning. Didnt find anything significant. Every pan had gold, but it was dust.

Camper trailer worked sweet for it's first outing. Figured out some things that need to be changed.

When we make it home, I'll put pictures into Dropbox and share it.

@ThatKOAGuy Do you have a preference where you’d like the reviews? Google? Yelp? Directly on the KOA website?

How/when does a first-timer get in line for next year?

Keep an eye on this thread is all we can say… for now it will be a few months off before next years registration is prepped.

Ouray Mountain Rescue is a volunteer organization that we proudly support each year. Many thanks to Matt and the team for what they do up there. The team rescued a hiker on Thursday and took the time for a group photo.
I hope we never need these services while attending but it's good to know they are a phone call away.
