However the conversation should not be coils vs leafs.. (leafs all the way)

Yep…rear shocks are important to have when in the San Jaun’s. Actually…I’d prefer to have them on any road condition I’m encountering. Beyond that, I’m a fan of both leaf and coil. But my rear rolls on leafs cause I’m a huge 60 series fan. 80’s are definitely the best engineered cruisers. But leaf’s and a standard trans satisfy my personal interest. Always say “to each their own”. I’ll still sit around the camp fire, drink Jarrods beer and listen to the constructive conversation . Look forward to it.

We're somewhere up front between the motorsickles and cabins. If anyone bails on their reservation in the back area, I would appreciate a heads up as we'd prefer that area.

I would like to bring something up. What do you guys think about a vehicle tech inspection. The trails around Ouray are not super tech but there are big consequences due to the drop offs in places. Just a basic tech inspection parking brake, battery tie down, suspension, etc. This would take a lot of stress off of the trail leaders and prevent problems. Most of us probably already check their rigs over but a list of things to check over would be good for novice wheelers before they head for ouray. I’m sure that if someone failed tech inspection we as a group would band together and help fix whatever problem there is.

If anyone is interested I am planning on leading a Blanca Peak run before heading to SAS. 2-3 more rigs + mine max, experienced drivers only please. This is a pretty tough trail in a few spots unless you're on 35"-up tires and some very serious dropoffs and ledges. This is NOT for new off-road drivers. If you have to ask then the answer is probably no. Great run for Tx folk as the route out of Amarillo and thru Raton points right to it. Message me for more info or questions
