The back area of KOA was booked in June of 2021, before any of us got there… I did not have a chance to block them off. I think they are suppose to have a playground back there so probably best that we are not back there.

We are in 47 I believe.

You should be able to call the KOA office and tell them you are with SAS and they will do their best to get us all together. There is another campground and I do know the NM Chapter, HighDesert Cruisers, will be at that campground the same week as us. The 4J is the other campground, they are not open but leave a message and they should get to ya.

We usually have coffee together around 7:30-8:30 at the SAS Headquarters tent and then most hit the trails around 9a after breakfast. Wednesday is the only day that should be mellow if you wanna be back at camp for the group photo and raffle.

Looking forward to this adventure!

We try to keep SAS as loose as possible. Coffee will be available at the main tent every morning until we run out as people plan their day. The group photo and raffle will be at the KOA but you aren't required to stay there. Ouray offers many places to stay, dine and shop. Some folks choose to do a trail everyday while attending while others break it up a bit with shopping, exploring the area, fishing or my personal favorite the Ouray Hot Springs.
I suggest doing PM's and going over your rig starting soon. You'd be surprised what pops up out of the blue. Haven't had any catastrophic failures but there have been some interesting things occur over the years.
Brakes, steering and cooling are a few. Loose steering wheel nut and seat mount bolts are a few that come to mind. If you don't have a fire extinguisher please get one. They are cheap and can save you a ton of money and work.
Broken parts are usually easy to get shipped in if needed.
I'll add some more things as reminders in the future, if any of you have questions please feel free to post here or PM a director. (Clothes are not optional again this year @Manitou Decline 😂, thank you in advance)

Don't forget to vote at the top.☝☝☝

Fire extinguisher...heck yes. Been there, done that, and so frigging glad that little cylinder was under my seat that day.

How about the oddballs like FZJ60, UZJ140, and UZJ80? You folks know who you are! These trucks have gotta make it this year!

Add "loose carburetor" to the list please. Had to keep the choke on all the way down Imogene to keep from stalling the motor out 🙄

If anybody wonders why I didn't make the group photo last year, there's your answer!

We don't discriminate at SAS. We cover as many of the standards that we know of.
Those of you that identify as something else that's cool just keep it to yourself. 🤪
Seriously though, I'd like to see more ingenuity on drivetrain, suspension and axles.

KOA website wasn't letting me choose a specific tent site. I wanted to get near where I was last year, over in that 54-55 corner 😕
To lock in a site you have to call in and Pay a extra $20. lock in fee ;) so I was told and payed.

No discrimination, great. I’m holding it down for all the light duty guys out there that have to hear “nOT a rEal lANdcrUisER”

For anyone who doesn’t have a fire extinguisher in the rig currently. I’d highly suggest looking at these. They have a smaller form factor, longer discharge and are eco-easy clean up.

Does it have a solid front axle and six lugs per wheel?

I mean, my hunk of junk will be there, hopefully with a pretty different drivetrain by then, and a few more links.

You're going to need it when my 78mm turbo finally gets in 😆
