I like the seat floor hinge mounting points. The tilt idea is cool but won’t it butt up against the front seats when tilted forward?

I like the water tank idea too. If it’s shaped right you’ll still have a ton of room in there.

The idea wasn’t to have it stand up straight, more just to provide access underneath and such. The front of the lower board hits the floor before it hits the seat. Once the top is on, it’ll likely hit the seat, but again, it just provides some access to the floor if I end up putting stuff underneath. Honestly, using those mounts was just so I didn’t have to fab some up. With the 3/4” spacer underneath that you see, the angle perfectly matches the rear portion so I went with it.

The water tank is another idea stolen from @GLTHFJ60 as he has a 10(?) gallon tank in his truck which has been nice on long trail days or for cleaning something. Trouble is finding a low profile tank with a screw on fill hole and not a pipe fill port.

Water storage: I went with 5 gallon Sceptor water tanks, I have 4 of them and keep one mounted in the back hatch for use. 3 will fit across from door to door laying flat on the passenger floor area you’re talking about, easy enough to strap them down. Flexibility to take one or all three/four as the trip dictates, easy to move around and take out to fill if you can’t get the vehicle close to the filling spigot (I’ve seen this problem happen), or to douse a campfire. Just one option to consider.

Noticed some oil residue on my air filter housing near the twist nuts and think I’m getting some blow by. Enough that I set the twist nuts on the bumper and it left an oil ring. Not sure if it’s from my adventures out west and too much timing saga a few posts up or not but I haven’t noticed that much before.

Plumbed in an improved racing catch can today I had on hand from my track car to see how much I collect over the first part of this year.

What catch can is that? I put one on Harumi and I think it was too small, as it increased my crankcase pressure enough to weep oil out of the front main seal.

I run these on my track car. Very high flow, low restriction but effective design. They’re expensive but very good. I had an extra on hand so that’s what got put on here.

More progress on the rear platform extension to replace the 2nd row. I roughly decided on a design and started cutting today. Each side will have a hinged flap to access the storage but be flush to sleep on top of. I have some hinges on the way and then it should be able to be used this coming weekend at our ONSC club event.

The driver side is cut back further than the passenger as I offset my new seat on the sliders by 4" so I can crank the seat way back on the highway to have my leg more straight on the gas and this was needed to clear. I sleep on the passenger side so I needed the full length.

As it sits now.

My friend Casey designed that one. 😁

It’s not too exciting lol. I bought a 2005 Mini Cooper S and completely stripped it down and rebuilt it with all new stuff for track days. Now it’s partially stripped, caged, fully forged motor, and setup for the track but still street legal.

My neighbor’s son dumped his Mini Cooper in her garage after blowing the motor up and it’s sat there for 10 years. She wants $500 for it and hasn’t gotten any takers. Seems like the perfect candidate for a track car to me, but that won’t be my cross to bear haha.

Sounds like a great camp trailer.

Replaced my mangled and stripped PS box bolts with shiny new Toyota hardware this afternoon when I had a free minute along with an oil change and rotation after the trip out west. The old bolts wouldn’t hit torque spec so they had to go.

Costco had its 15w-40 diesel oil on sale for $10/gallon so giving it a shot.
