Just drive your 60s to work once every week! My kids are grown and I didn’t have a 60 when they were little so I might be a little out of touch.

This is what I try to do, but I’ve been daily driving mine while the daily is in the shop recently. Amazing how much better they run when driven regularly! It’s a struggle to find time for wrenching (or any hobby) with young kids though

Just had #3 and it took me 3 weeks to change the alternator on my 40

I can sympathize. I had new heads and such for my 6.0 excursion that sat for ~6 months before I could get them installed. My track car has been on jack stands waiting to get a refreshed head put on it for 5 weeks 😂. Finally got it installed but haven’t fired it yet.

I work from home or I would totally do this! Sadly, with no backseat in it, I can’t put kids in it either. I need to get better about taking it places, even once a month.

Our oldest is 2.5 and I’m waiting for the days I can have him “help” me in the garage with projects!

Mine is almost 10 and he still isn't interested in "helping" for more than a few minutes, haha. He does love going out and riding some trails though!

Wrenching time is definitely hard to come by with little ones. Keep at it guys. Bringing up kids is far more fulfilling than working on a truck and you’ll get to a place where you find balance.

Sandy got a new rust-free tailgate courtesy of @GLTHFJ60! Mine has some rust that was bondo'd like the rest of the truck's rust when I bought it. Similarly to how the roof project started, I started poking at it with a screwdriver a little while ago and realized just how bad the tailgate rust was... While I plan to repair it, this will allow me to keep using the truck while I work on finding time to address my old tailgate...I'm still on the fence if I want to transfer my Huracan tailgate storage over or not.

The white isn't that noticeable with the swingouts closed. It'll get sprayed beige-ish at some point.

What makes you on the fence about the Huracan storage?

It’s useful, no doubt, but with my second row storage boxes, I don’t really need that space anymore. If I don’t need to cut up the tailgate for the storage, I’m not going to.

The cutting up of a perfectly fine tailgate (mine) is the issue for me.

Small fix today to address my OCD. My rear heater switch tabs broke off and the switch had been hanging out of the dash since last year. Finally tracked down a switch with good tabs and now it's secured back in the dash properly.\\

I'm getting ready for Carolina Relic Run later this week. Need to pack the truck and put gas in it and hit the road Thursday morning to go down to Uwharrie.

We could probably come up with a design to 3d print them pretty easily. @Hokie LX if you have one of those switch housings that's got at least one of the tabs, I could come up with a prototype at some point.

CruiserHead has had 3D printed switch blanks for a few years now. That could probably be adapted for these switches - leave a cutout for the rocker and a hole for a roll pin. Paging @ChaserFJ60

I do have some. We can chat this weekend about it!

Same on mine along with the rear wiper, annoying
If only people weren't asking so much for replacements
I ended up finding a full intact loaded bezel with all the switches for cheap so I got more than i needed but will now have extra parts to go into the stash. I have the @TRFarmers bezel in my truck now which is really nice!

Rocker switches wont fit in the FJ60 blank, but later model Toyota switches will. I dont do injection molding anymore, (No more garage space). I could try 3D printing my old adapter files and see how it works.

I still haven’t tried the DIY injection molding thing. I was really interested when you were getting that set up and figured out!
