It’s way up in there. I had to pull the whole harness out to get to it. And it wasn’t blown

That’s lovely.
I’ve done two, and the easiest access is to remove the cowel grille and vent plate and access from the top.

What’s a permit?

It‘s a “grift”, dreamed up by some over fed bureaucrat(s) in a seersucker suit and a bad toupee, levied against you the landowner, for the “privilege“ of paying the salaries of the above mention non elected bureaucrats.

This was on my ‘69

Success.

Well it was a bit more work than it should have been. 2 of 4 M4 screws had to be drilled out and retapped

Fuse was blown. Holder is in great shape so no need to replace.

Vent cover is in the paint booth getting properly returned to black. I have a City Racer gasket to slide on it after the paint dries.

Should be a new OEM Fuse holder and OEM fuses from Vintage TEq Matt in one of those boxes of tricks…..sounds like the Yankee knew😉 🍺🍺

That fuse placement must have been designed by a disgruntled employee.
Hey, at least there is access - if unconventional - to it!

So here is the verdict on the F…..

These side freeze plugs that were leaking were likely correct but they were not seated right.

Rory has a couple of F motors here and the freeze plugs are flat and all have the same “dents” in the middle that must be used to expand them once in the block.

We replaced them all with the later style cups. They are good to go.

We popped the valve cover off and it looks new (3000 miles on the build). Checked the valves and reinstalled the cover. This is where all of the oil was coming from. This cover has been overtorqued the wrong way and it’s spread Eagle at the bottom. I think we have it right now.

@Catching Neutral had a sweet Con Ferr rack he offered up for the project and it was just a 6 hour detour to grab it. Thanks for meeting me brother.
