Plus I need defense against the Ford trucks on the country roads with their nuclear fusion reactors in meltdown for headlights. Yes, Ford trucks are the biggest offenders in this regard.
Just been driving her a lot. Have some work in the hill country last week and next. 1 hour to my buddies ranch where I am staying and another half to the town of Fredericksburg where we are working. Driving these winding country roads post suspension upgrade make me realize I probably do need to lose another leaf out of the fronts and the rears.
Twitchy steering makes one tired and then doubles the dangers.
Been enjoying the ride nonetheless…
Had a great 4th out in this slice of hill country heaven.
We did not get a good snow pack and the spring did not bring much snow and very little rain and is very dry up here. My place is left natural and very little turned green this year. Yesterday when I came back from Casper once I got close to home I could see one fire to the south but the two the north I did not see.
I have only used the tractor and the rough cut mower once this year and that was because of the red grass that is so flammable that popped up after some rain.
I theorize that the force of lumens pushed by the headlights puts out enough resistance to tax the subpar components of these trucks. It’s a lot of lumens.

I have a 36" Black Oak on my Ram and sometimes forget to turn it off and had a truck lay on the air horn.. But with the wide open spaces here it really comes in handy with the wild life here.

I cant change the output on the light bar. But it is powered by the #1 aux switch and is not tired into the high beams so I forget. I try to pay attention to the auto hi/lo beam on the truck and if it drops the hi beam because of the sensor seeing another car or truck I try to shut down the light bar.
I do want better lights on the 40 but now the lights are better then they 40 years ago. I could keep aux lights working even after an electrician helped me wire them up. I did put modern head lights in and they may piss off other drivers more then the incandescent and Halogen lights did because they are to close together. They use to think I always had the hi beams on until it turned them on.
